“I greet the princess.”

Karina hurriedly bowed her knees and greeted her. After receiving her greetings Astrid turned to Andrea, the maid next to her.

“…Are they the one the Duke brought this time?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

“They’re so… dirty.”

“Princess, they can hear everything.”

Andrea’s graceful dissuasion was of no use. Astrid slid toward Karina. It was a walk that looked similar to Miss Terrace. Even though it was well refined, her voice couldn’t hide the youth flowing from her thick lips.

“Where were you planning to go with this filthy look?”

Karina hesitated for a moment. She knew that her answer would only raise Princess Astrid’s anger, but she couldn’t help it.

“At the order of the Duke, I was taking the children to the tutor.”

“A tutor?”

Astrid forehead’s frowned. Looking at the serious expression of a girl who was only 12 years old, she felt like she was going to laugh. Of course, Karina was a sensible adult so she endured it.

“We don’t have any tutor other than Miss Terrace. Who are they going to learn from?”

“It’s Miss Terrace.”

“What…?”

“Yes Your Highness”

Karina answered confidently.

“I can’t believe it. The Duke..”

“If it weren’t for Your Grace, how could we have dared to receive an education from Miss Terrace?”

“…”

Astrid who had nothing to say gracefully folded the fan and pointed at the children.

“These kids, they’re so dirty! Hurry up take them out of my sight, wash them, and bring them back in with new clothes!”

Karina was amazed and choked up, but she wasn’t angry. The children washed often, so they were always dry. So it wasn’t about the children’s bodies.

‘The problem is the clothes.’

The children could hardly bring clothes when they ran away from Lord Lenque’s mansion in a hurry. In particular, Melissa who was in trouble in the mansion added up. Naturally, Karina wanted to buy new clothes for the children.

However, the remaining money and salary were all thrown away when Roland was sick, so the children were still wearing the same clothes that they were with when they ran away. Of course, no matter how good the clothes were in the beginning, they had no choice but to look worn out and shabby now.

“Princess, my children wash every day. If it looks dirty, it’s because of the clothes.”

Astrid’s eyes widened.

“Your clothes are dirty? Why don’t you just wear clean clothes then?

“Except for the coat, there are only three clothes so things don’t work our way.”

“There are only 3 clothes…?”

Astrid’s red lips trembled with astonishment

“Now, if you dare lied to me and tried to buy sympathy…”

Karina shrugged her shoulders.

“Why would I lie?”

“…”
