Music is playing. Rebekah and Maeve are painting each others nails, Kol is standing before a full-length mirror wearing a black evening suit while a tailor adjusts it. Finn and Elijah are also standing in the room preparing for the ball

"Rebekah? Tell me how handsome I am"
Rebekah glares "ah Kol, you know I can't be compelled" Finn grins. The door opens and Klaus walks in and up to Rebekah "you went after Elena? What is wrong with you?!"

"Here we go"

"Do you want another dagger in your heart?" Kol looks at Klaus "again with the dagger threats? Don't you have any other tricks?"

"Oh, go back to staring at yourself"

"And who are you, my father?"

"No, Kol, but you're in my house"

"Then perhaps we should go outside" Klaus and Kol stare at each other. Esther walks in "enough! Niklaus. Come." Klaus goes into another room with his mother

Stefan Salvatore walked inside the boarding house as he found a small white envelope with his name written. He opens the invitation to the Mikaelson ball. Stefan flipped the card over to find a message on the back

Rebekah and Maeve walk in the grill hours later their eyes landing on care and Elena, Maeve follows Rebekah to the table "careful Caroline, it's all well and good until she stabs you in the back" Rebekah warned

"what are you two doing here? I know your moms rules, no hurting the locals" Elena remarked as she looked at both of them

"Get over yourself, it's not all about you"

Rebekah walks away over to Matt and gives him an invitation envelope to the ball

The Mikaelson's mansion was filled with guests pulling in the driveway. Maeve spots Kol talking to Mrs Lockwood in the driveway Maeve walks inside she notices elena with the Salvatore brothers Kol walks up next to her "jealous Maeve?"

"No" Maeve responded before drowning a drink "I have no reason to Kol"

Elijah makes an announcement "if everyone could gather, please" All the Originals are standing on the staircase as Elijah addresses the company. Esther walks down the staircase from upstairs "welcome, thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance. Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom"

Maeve walked down the staircase as she sees elena and damon walking towards the ballroom hand in hand her eyes travelled to Stefan, she felt bad for him he lost everything because of her and klaus. Maeve walked towards Stefan "can we dance Mr.Salvatore?"

The sound of give me love starts playing in the background as they danced

"your staring" Maeve informed Stefan who was staring at damon and Elena dancing. Stefan twirled her around so they are now face to face. Maeve locked eyes with Stefan "are you okay" he ignored her question "why did you invite me maeve your the enemy" Stefan asked why they danced.

"I'm not the enemy stefan" he scoffs "I'm sorry for my involvement, he's the only family I have" Stefan rose his brows "I'm trying to apologize, he betrayed me too" Stefan stares at her "your gonna have to earn my trust"

"This is me trying" Maeve whispered before he could respond, Maeve found herself in Elijah's arms as they continued to dance

Maeve finds herself outside with Stefan "the stars are beautiful"

"Is this your way of trying to get me to trust you" Stefan asked as he turned around to look in her brown eyes. Maeve smiled as she moved to be by his side "maybe, you know I've always been fascinated by stars, how they sparkle"

"He betrayed me too you know, he took away the one person I've ever loved my parents were never around before I became a vampire I was assaulted and left for dead Rebekah and Klaus saved me I owe them" Stefan frowned noticing her facial expression has changed "stars have always been a comfort for me"

"I'm sorry" Stefan apologized as Maeve raises her brows "for what you went through" Maeve smiles at him

"We all have our share of trauma" Maeve nodded "am I forgiven yet" she turned around to look at the youngest Salvatore "just so you know, one day you'll fall in love again without realizing it, elena isn't the only sun to your orbit; your hurting yourself in the process, you can't deny what's happening in front of you"

Before Maeve walked back inside she plants a kiss on Stefan's cheek "I loved you Stefan and I'm sorry he did that to us, hopefully we find each other again in another life" Stefan looks up at the stars "maybe" Maeve walks away

He felt something with Maeve something he didn't feel with Elena, what if she was right? what if Elena wasn't his happiness, his epic love.

Esther addresses the guests from the staircase. She has a glass of red-tinged champagne in her hand "good Evening, waiters are coming around with champagne. I invite you all to join me in raising a glass. It provides me with no greater joy then to see my family back together as one. I'd like to thank you all for being part of this spectacular evening. Cheers!"

"Cheers!" everyone drinks from their glasses, including all the Original vampires who give each other a look, not knowing they linked their lives to one another
