For the second time in the last 4 days, you walk into 'The Blue Gown' bar. It's not like it's close to where you live - or used to live - it's actually quite the drive from Hyun-woo's place. On Friday, the first time you came here, you were encouraged by the pretty blue lights and heavy-hearted atmosphere which fit you perfectly at the time. This time, the promise of meeting someone as nice as Jungkook was is the reason you're entering this particular bar. After all, it has a 1/1 record for finding you a friend, you're hoping for a 2/2.
It hadn't occurred to you that you forgot to respond to Jungkook's message, despite you never deleting it like a certain someone wanted you to. But seeing the slight surprise on the face of a stranger at the bar, you remember him as the friendly face who listened to you complain about your sad love life. The stranger you left on read.
I guess I don't really need to find a new friend you tell yourself, starting to walk in his direction. You don't really prefer to talk to strangers anyway, and since you know his name, Jungkook isn't as much of a stranger as everyone else here is. Plus, all the old men at this bar are giving you a funny look and making you uncomfortable, and Jungkook looks strong and intimidating so he might keep them from approaching you if you sit with him.
And if you're gonna sit with him anyway, you figure now is a good time to go and apologize to him for not responding. In your defense, you had a lot going on!
You can feel the tension as you sit to his left. You're starting to get this feeling that maybe he didn't want you to sit with him, and that would be totally fair because it's not like he knows you or anything. But, you'd rather be here than anywhere else at the moment despite the silence that sits between you two in the otherwise pretty loud bar.
"I'm sorry"
"I'm sorry"
What catches you off guard is Jungkook speaking, still having not spared you a glance since you sat beside him. You had said 'I'm sorry' in hopes to break the awkward silence, but it seems like he was thinking the same thing - and the fact you spoke at the same time has made the air between you awkward again. You try and think about what he could possibly be sorry for, but before you can ponder too long his voice slices through your thoughts;
"Wait, what are you sorry for?"
Did he forget you didn't respond to him? Or did he not care?
"I'm sorry for not responding to you? I saw your message it's just... been a long weekend is all. But it was nice to meet you last time Jungkook."
He finally looks up at you, and you can see the slight change in his serious face, as you watch him loosen up a bit.
"Oh.. that. I thought you didn't respond since I came on a bit strong... I wasn't trying to hit on you or anything! I'm not usually like that I swear."
