"So, what's the plan?" Rodas asked and I looked up at him.
He sat down and I started to explain everything I had in mind to him. It was a very dangerous situation we were stepping into and he was risking a lot by deciding to join me. The least I could do was to give him details about all I had in mind to do.
First, we were going to camp out there each day until we could finally meet with my mother. When we do, we would give her the phone which she would use in communicating with us. Like that, we don't have to keep going out there which was pretty dangerous as Oliver had stated. By communicating with her, we would get to know the best time to come in and rescue her from that house. She would be our inside man.
Rodas thought it was a good plan. We agreed to start the next day since Mum wouldn't be able to meet with us after almost being exposed that same day.
I took the phone from Rodas to examine it as he gave me the specifications. It was just what we needed. I passed it back to him.
"It's better if you hold it."
He nodded, then stood up and left. I finished my food a couple of minutes later then went into my room to have my bath.
Oliverios' question kept ringing in my mind, "What if he had seen you?"
I did not want to think of that possibility. It was a really bad thing, to be honest, and anytime I thought of that it discouraged me a little. If Dad found out, it wouldn't have only spoilt my plans, but the whole plan altogether. As much as I wanted to push it out of my mind, there was a nagging voice within me that kept repeating the possibility of that happening. I had to embrace it and think of an escape from that kind of situation. Lying wasn't my thing at all; just one word and I'd have blown my cover. So I needed to plan it.
Mom and I shared huge similarities, there was no hiding that. Our hair type was the same -brown, long and wavy. We had the same tanned complexion and icy blue eyes. I needed to camouflage. Maybe I, dye my hair and wear contacts. That idea was as funny as it was needed.
Rodas was my new accomplice since Oliver was busy getting angry at me and trying to push me aside.
Thankfully, he was free so we went to get the contact lenses and dye my hair. Rodas had gone somewhere else while I was at the salon. He came back just in time to see my new look. His first reaction would determine if I had made a good or bad decision and I couldn't wait to see what it was.
Rodas walked in while the hairdresser was still trying to boost my confidence. Immediately he entered the salon, I quickly used a scarf to cover my head.
"Hey, don't be shy," he laughed, turning my swivel chair around. Facing him with a scowl, he gently pulled my scarf away.
I could see the twinkle in his eyes when the scarf came off fully. He was trying so hard to hold in his laughter.
"I'm hideous!" I cried out.
"No, no, no, you're beautiful just the way you are."
"More like just the way I was."
I turned back to look at my reflection in the mirror. I did not have the liver to cut my long wavy hair, it was my pride, so I only dyed the whole thing like that. You don't want to know the colour. Okay, it was blue. Rodas had told me blue would fit me and would make me look funky. Now I looked like someone who funks. Just some Gothic attire and the impression would be complete.
I let out a groan and turned back to face Rodas who was grinning like a Cheshire cat. He tried to make me feel good about it but I just wasn't feeling the vibe.
