I withdrew from the room, closed the door then her hands left my face. I looked around wondering where the huge hand came from but saw no one in the house except me, Chira and my unconscious husband.
I left Chira by her father's side.
I rushed into our small kitchen to get some water which I would sprinkle on Dolo's face. I came out of the kitchen and looked around and couldn't find Chira near her father's side. I went outside to look for her but couldn't find her. I went into the house and sprinkled some water on Dolo's face. I looked at the door of the room which was still closed. I tried opening the door but it didn't open.
Dolo POV
I woke up to see my wife struggling to open the door. I held her back.
"No my dear don't go inside." I said.
"Chira...." She cried, "I can't find her."
"What!" I said as we saw the door of the room opening with Chira on the bed.
I smiled and went over to Chira and carried her.
My wife came near me and took Chira from my hands.
"Chira, my Chira." She said as she kissed Chira's forehead.
I was happy having found Chira.
Dinna smiled and hugged me.
Dinna POV
I went out rapping Chira by my side.
"Dolo, I think this house is haunted, do you still remember what happened to me when I was pregnant of our first child who died?" I asked him.
"I lost the child in this house because I started seeing some strange things." I paused then continued, "Also do you remember when I was pregnant of Chira?, I almost died in this house and due to that you took me to my parents house and that saved my life. Now that I have birthed Chira, they want to kill my little Chira. I think we should leave this house."
I turned my back on him.
Dolo POV
She started moving away from me turning her back on me. I tried reasoning with her. I noticed that she was sobbing.
"Utotinga." I called her middle name and she stopped moving.
"Okay we would pack away from here soon. I would call the building department to check for a spacious building in Chitintaga area. We would be moving out of this house by next week." I said giving her a smile and she faced me smiling and nodded her head.
Dinna POV
I nodded to him smiling. I gave him little Chira who he later laid on the worn out sofa to sleep and we all slept in the balcony.
. The next morning,
I woke up. Dolo wasn't in the balcony or in the room , he had gone out to do his small job which is to sell his home made flakes. He does this whenever he has his break from his cleaning job at the school where he cleans.
I went into the kitchen and opened the pot.
Dolo had already prepared our morning meal which is Corn melted in soup. We normally have it with flakes.
I took out the corn which had been melted in soup and took flakes. I opened the small fridge that we had and took out a milk container. I poured the milk into the flakes. I ate the corn and drank the flakes.
After eating, I went to my baby.
Dolo POV
I was out selling the packet of flakes that I made to Business Industries that needed it, they would package it and label it as their product. I was used to doing this during my break.
I got to this wonderful industry called MITE DAILY where a sales man called me in. The man told me to wait for him with my truck while he goes to his boss. He went inside to call his boss.
The Sales man came out and gave me some money. He bought almost all the bundles of flakes left on my truck. Out of the twelve bundle of flakes I had left on my truck, He bought ten bundle of flakes.
He told me to wait.
The company is located in Chitintaga area, the area I am planning of moving to with my family.
The school where I work in as a cleaner is also located in Chitintaga area.
The sales man called me in to his Boss office.
I got to the Boss office and was told to have my sit.
"I see you most times passing around. Is this your job?" The boss asked me.
"No sir, I also work as a cleaner in Biyaka school. I only sell flakes during the school monthly break." I answered him.
"Okay." He said, "Where do you live?"
"I live in Omri area with my family." I said, "We would be located to this area by next week."
I looked at him being anxious as to why he was asking me this questions.
"Oh I get, please wait." The boss said bending down.
He picked up an envelope and gave it to me.
"Discuss this with your wife. Would you like to work with us?, We are in need of someone like you." The boss said to me.
"Okay sir, I will talk to her about this." I said standing up.
We shook hands.
I went out of his office and left for my house with the truck tied to my bike.
Dinna POV
He got home smiling. He told me about all that happened. I was so happy. I looked at my little Chira who was smiling. I went over to her and called her my mother's village name for great child, 'Anamika'. She smiled as I called her the name.
I'm from China while my mother is from Mexico and I chose my mother's place over my father's place so I preferred to be called a Mexican.
We looked into the envelope given to Dolo and found a letter and another envelope.
He opened the envelope and saw a form with the company's name.
"What are you waiting for?" I asked him and he looked at me smiling.
"Sign it." I said making him sign it.
He signed it and I kissed him on the cheek.
We checked the envelope again and met with a cheque of Five thousand Yen and a letter.
"Oh just accept the offer." I said when I saw a paper on top of the letter containing an offer.
"I would accept it." He said picking up his pen.
He accepted the offer. He signed the paper, smiled and kept everything back in the envelope.
He looked at Chira who was already asleep.
