"If it wasn't for the fact that you are my best friend, I would scold you to hell and back for ruining that suit. I should have gotten something less expensive, and I should have known that you would be ever so careless while wearing it." I paused for a moment as I take in the scene before me. If I was being honest, I was a bit saddened to see such a nice suit ruined for all eternity. However when I pulled myself from that thought, I released a small sigh and then spoke to him once more. "Drop the poor thing would you, I'm sure it's defeated enough, you made your point." I told him in a slightly annoyed, yet empathetic tone. Looking at my friend who was dressed in a long, deep red cloak, with the hood over his head. It was shielding him from any light that threatened to peak in from the moon. Keeping his face mostly covered from any peering eyes that may also look upon the alleyway. Underneath the cloak, he sported a nice grey felted suit, picked out just for him, which I need to make a mental note to never get him a suit of which, that could be ruined so easily. It was now covered with black, thick and inky demon blood. How typical of Daniel it seems though, so how could he really complain. It was just in his nature to not remain clean during an event like this. Plus he seemed to be really happy that he could participate in this hunt. Because the last time there was a hunt, he couldn't participate in it. He had sustained a bad injury due to a more powerful demon attack. Basically his whole back become one large open wound. Of course it ended up getting infected, plus whatever the demon possessed was something poisonous. It ended up causing Daniel to black out for many days at a time, also leaving him in fits of fevers for months. It gave me a scare because I was the only one there for him. So having to take care of him weighed on me heavily for that time he was indefinitely bed ridden. There were times where I thought that I was going to lose him, but I am ever so thankful that he made it out of it and survived.

The night was bustling with many mortals, the people who liked to come out at night also tagged along the livery that was taking place all over. However some of the mortals always turned a blind eye to what went on around them. Technically nobody could see what was actually happening, but those who could, said nothing. Tonight was definitely something out of the ordinary for those who had no idea what was actually happening. It was a special night for demon hunters and anyone who liked being a part of the hunt. Which in this case was most of the immortals, or advanced human if you want to call them that, I am not exactly sure, but they participate anyway. However, the hunt is open for anyone, the mundane don't really care for something they don't know about. Oh and a fun twist to the whole demon hunting aspect is that Daniel, my friend as he has called himself; I am kidding, we have been friends for the better of 6 years; is half demon. He definitely knows first hand how it feels to be hunted, I made sure of that. Now don't call me a bad friend or someone who should feel so much guilt for doing that. But I am not, in fact, as bad as you all might think I am. Daniel was saved by me, but only after I made sure he was hunted well. Call it a life lesson, if you will. This built up his skills in the end, he has learned so many necessities in his life. So now that he was hunted, we are friends, and I am the one that helps to keep him safe. Though if you still insist on hating on me for something such as this, then you have all right to not see it from my stand point. I really had to break him out of his shell at some point, and no, if you think that it was the time he had gotten hurt you are wrong. The injury sustained was a year ago, fairly recent. What I did was 3 years ago, and my actions were justified. For the most part anyway.

Daniel looked over at me, even though I couldn't quite see his face, I knew that he was mildly disappointed that I told him enough was enough. Dropping his dagger he held in his hand, it glittered in what light could hit it. Soon hitting the ground with a metal ping as it landed. he had also started releasing the demon as well. Its battered body slumped to the ground before disintegrating into nothing but a pile of ashes. "That's not fair, I wasn't done with him yet..." Daniel said looking down at the pile of ashes as he spoke. Then in a tantrum-ish mood, he kicked the pile of ashes and the floated away as the slight breeze carried them away. His lip stuck out slightly as he pulled down his hood, revealing his face. Seeing that his eyebrows were now knitted together in disappointment. His eyes, that were a golden brown color had shifted to look over at me before speaking again. "What number are we on 987,023?" He asked as he still held some excitement on his face, though it dwindled a little bit from saying such a low number. The number he spoke of though was quite high, in fact it is the highest anyone has gotten during the last 10 minutes of the hunt like this. At least not that they know about, and since the scores were kept track of, they sat high on the leaderboard tonight, for the time being anyway. I ended up smiling at him and nodding slightly, as if I was thinking about the score myself. "Either that or someone else has slain more in the past hour than we have, I believe we still hold the title. I wouldn't dwell on things for too long though, who knows, maybe our title will be stripped from us by some loner. Only time will tell." I finished speaking before I heard a shift in footsteps behind me. Quickly turning around, I am met with stark blue eyes, a golden mop of hair and a sweet scent. "Oh, so you decided to bare witness to the two best demon hunters have you? Nice to see you again...Ezekiel." My voice, steadier and calmer than my actions of turning around were. I acted in such way because his visit was so unexpected and I hadn't heard him until he was almost a foot away from me. Which made me wonder how he was so easily undetected by me especially if he was there for a while and me not realizing it.
