In the next 2 hours, Icarus and Daniel seemed to become the best of friends and it truly surprised me that this would of happened. We all had been sitting on the couch watching a movie, even though I had seen said moving a thousand times. I was hardly paying attention, so it made it very noticeable when Icarus moved off of my lap and went to snuggle with Daniel. The same half-demon who seemed afraid of him at first. Icarus curled up in the his lap and fell asleep within a few moments of being there. It actually amazed me how it happened like this, first poor Daniel was afraid and now he was happy to have the cat in his lap. However when I looked over at Daniel for a moment, I was going to ask him something, but nothing left my lips as I looked at his sleeping face. He looked so relaxed, no stress laying there, even if he had so much going on in his life right now. Ironic enough, he looked like an angel when he was asleep.
I decided to get up from the couch and turn off the tv, grabbing the blanket off the back of the couch and draped it over the other. I noticed that Icarus decided to get down and most likely follow me to my room. He usually did when I was going to bed, so he must know it was time. However the cat stopped instantly in its tracks and the hair on its body stood on end, a low growl escaped him, ears pinned back and staring at the space behind me. I halted in my movements and tuned into my other senses. Smell and hearing, tuning into whatever it had been that Icarus was hearing and seeing with his ears and eyes. The only problem was that I couldn't hear what was there, lurking in the darkness. It seemed to be sitting there, no breathing was heard, that was if it could. I could smell though, it was a musky smell, mixed with a familiar metallic scent. Blood. However there had been another smell attached to this entity I was so unaware of. Had it been stalking me and Daniel the entire time we were walking back here? If so, why did neither of us notice it? As my mind swarmed with thoughts, I realized the smell I had been smelling. It was such a recognizable smell, A certain cologne that a certain someone wore, a person who had been close to me. Ezekiel.
"Ezekiel, what are you doing? When did you come to my home this late at night?" I asked as I then turned around and focused on the darkness that the male was shielded by. As soon as my eyes had adjusted, I gasped. Without thinking I rushed over to the male and went to the ground quickly. I was frantic as I did my best to check the other over, noticing that I had touched something wet at his side. "Hey talk to me...what happened to you? Ezekiel please answer me right now." Even though it sounded like a demand, it was more like a plea to get the other to talk to me. I was afraid and if anyone said that Vampires never felt fear in their life, they would be lying. After a few moments he heard a small groan escape the male and a sigh of relief left him so fast.
"I...Came to find you... hoping you were home...." Ezekiel coughed and almost curled in discomfort as he did so. I just sat there watching him and trying to figure out what could have happened to him. "Someone was here, they must have thought that I was you...ran off after..." Another cough followed by a groan.
"What? How can that be?" I asked in disbelief, my brows furrowed as the other male had told me about what had happened. Now I was under the assumption that he was injured. "I don't understand who would be trying to hurt me..." I mumbled before getting up quickly. "Let me wake Daniel up so we can help you..." I told him before getting up and heading back to the couch where Daniel had been sleeping. I got onto the couch and shook him vigorously. Trying to stir the other from his slumber. Daniel who was sleeping peacefully shoved at me, trying to get me to stop disturbing him. "Daniel get up now.. Wake. Up." With each word I shook the other more and more. Hoping that he would wake up. And to my surprise, he did.
"What the hell Kai? I was trying to sleep." Daniel grumbled as his eyes adjusted from being closed for as long as they had been. His eyes then shifted over to my face and he noticed the fear and shock I sported. He quickly sat up and pulled the blanket off of himself, standing up and ready to fight someone if he had to.
