I was glad to have found out that Ezekiel had left to go back home, even though it left me with a twinge of guilt for being with Daniel for so long without telling him anything. Considering that I just left the other, telling him that he wasn't allowed in our secret spot. It had been a secret for a reason and I wasn't going to expose that for the sake of finding Daniel. But I couldn't just leave him behind. I couldn't have left Daniel alone and vulnerable, it wasn't something I would have been happy about. But still, I felt bad about leaving Ezekiel alone, however, I hoped that he understood and wouldn't be upset with me. I would just have to explain it all to him later.

"I'm sorry for not coming back to the club, I should have came back and told you what was going on." Daniel piped up on our walk back to my place. It made me look back at him and frown, my eyebrows furrowing for a moment. "I don't think you need to apologize for something like that, I am just glad I knew where you went. I've known you for a long time, so knowing where you went put me at ease. So please never apologize for that." I told him, hoping he'd understand.

He looked back at me and a smile formed on his lips as he nodded. "Alright, well then I apologize for acting like a child when we lost."

I rolled my eyes and kind of nudged him playfully. "I think it is justified, even though you did act like a big baby about it." I teased and received a nudge back.

"Says you, I remember there was a time where you cried like a baby over something, so you can't say anything." He replied.

"Hey, that was ONE time, you on the other hand...well...I think losing tonight really got to you friend." I replied even though I had notice I should have held my tongue. But what came out  of Daniel's mouth wasn't disapproving or anything like that, I was glad.

"Well, what do you think I was going to do? Be excited to know we lost... The answer is no. I am going to be upset...so leave me alone about it." He pouted for a moment before we soon reached my home. The old Victorian style mansion was enough to turn away anyone. It wasn't the most pleasant sight to look at from the outside, and maybe I preferred it to be that way. However on the inside it was well put together and everything was fairly new looking. I had to change the furniture recently because the older stuff had been in it for a long time. Plus it was time for a change considering the world was evolving around me and I stayed un-ageing, while growing older in vampiric years.

"I will never get over the weirdness that I feel coming from your place." Daniel said, feeling a chill run through him after speaking. I glare at him as we both stand at my front door.

"My house is not weird...It's unique... what would  you know anyway, you live in a studio apartment. Besides, I've told you many times that you could come live with me if you wanted to. I have the room for it." I responded, a bit defensive after hearing the others comment about my home.

Daniel brushed me off about my comment on his living arrangements before brushing passed me and going into my home. "Hey you can't just walk into my house without me entering it first!" I exclaimed, following after him and closing my door. I didn't have to flip on the light to see anything around me, but Daniel ended up turning on the light switch near the door. Once the warm yellow light flooded the entrance, I blinked a few times. It had never occurred to me that I hadn't really turned the lights on when I came home at night. Of course I never really turned them on in the first place. Once my eyes adjusted I looked over at him and sent a nervous smile. "I definitely don't turn on these lights almost ever...if you couldn't tell."

"Oh really, I hadn't noticed by your reaction to them being turned on. I guess you're going to have to deal with it, at least for a short time. Because right now I have no desire to go back to my own place." He told me before heading to my living room and finding the grey leather couch, however he didn't sit down yet, instead he removed his cloak, hung it over the couch and then removed his blazer. I had made my way to the open kitchen and opened up the stainless steel refrigerator.

"Do you want anything or do you want to come raid my fridge to see what there is in here?" I asked as I grabbed a water bottle out of it. Opening it up and downing half of it, waiting for a response from the other. However since I didn't hear one, I turned around and almost dropped the bottle.

Daniel was standing there, without a shirt on and just looking at me like a lost puppy. "Well, first I want to get the blood out of this suit, I know you aren't happy with me for ruining it." He replied holding a small frown as he held onto the blazer and the button up that was also stained with blood. However my eyes seemed to slip passed the fabric and wander over to the others body. I couldn't help but stare, of course I had never once in my life looked at Daniel in any way, so in the end end I had to look away and took a drink from my water bottle.

"The washer...is down the west wing and second door on the right...just leave it there and I will take care of it." I told him before going around the island and heading to my room to grab him something else to wear. Maybe I had a pair of pajamas that would fit him. He was slightly bulkier and taller than me, so I hoped I had something for him, I REALLY hoped I had something for him.

"OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT?!?" I heard a plastic cup hit the floor as it sounded like Daniel jumped up onto something. I Ran out of my room as fast as I could, running to the kitchen to see Daniel right there on the island and a dark shape sitting on the floor looking up at him. I looked down at the shape and noticed the pointy ears and the white markings that sat on his head. I busted up with laughter and caught Daniel glaring at me very quickly. "It's...It's not funny Kai. Not funny at all. Back demon... back..." He said as he then looked down at the animal that seemed to have scared him.

"You...ha...You're scared of my cat...Have you never met a cat before?" I asked as I moved to go get Icarus from the floor and held onto him. He started purring immediately and I smiled, still laughing softly. "A big man is scared of a little thing like you."

"I...shut up and never talk about this ever again or else." He threatened even though I know it wasn't even a threat. Daniel slid off the counter and looked at me and Icarus as he did so. Still weary of the cat. As to why, I wasn't sure on the reason, but still found it funny that he was afraid.

"Come pet him, I promise that he wont hurt you, why would he? He wanted your attention and he isn't one to come up to people he doesn't really know. Especially since I didn't have him whenever you came over." I said moving closer to Daniel who seemed to tense up a bit. I halted my movements and then waited for the him to calm down. "He wont scratch you and is well behaved. Like I said, I promise you that he wont hurt you. If he had wanted to, he would already be out of my arms and attacking you." I reassured him, taking a few more steps forward. Soon I was standing in front of Daniel and looked at him. "Go on...it's okay." I said.

Daniel looked at me to see if I had been lying, but seeing that I wasn't, He lifted his hand up and then moved it over to Icarus's head, placing it down and petting him. Icarus leaned into Daniel's touch and it made me smile even more. "See, I told you he wouldn't hurt you. He's the sweetest cat I have ever met in my life." I told him, still watching Daniel pet the cat. Daniel also seemed to ease up and not be so afraid. It still made me wonder how a person like him was so afraid of a small cat. But then again, wouldn't anyone be afraid of something they had never been around in their entire life?

"Here I am, an adult, and afraid of a cat...I'm more than embarrassed that this even happened. Please don't tell anyone about this. Please." He begged me and I had to hold back my laughter because it was definitely hilarious that Daniel acted the way he had. However, I wasn't going to hold the situation over his head anytime soon.

"Alright, nobody else will know that you acted like a big baby because of a cat. I promise I won't tell another soul." I said and chuckled slightly before putting Icarus down and going into the living room. "You can come join me and watch some tv for a short time before we go to bed. If you want." I suggested to him before turning on the tv.

Daniel eventually came over and sat down before glancing over at me and then looking away and at the tv as I searched for something to watch. Now it wasn't like I was blind and couldn't see what he had just done, I know that kind of look on someone's face before. It wasn't a new thing for me and yet it still made my heart thump in my chest.

Yes, if you must know, I still have a beating heart. Just because I am a vampire doesn't mean that I died forever. I'd literally be a walking corpse, which would be a zombie, and I am not even sure they exist. But I am not one of those, I breath, eat and have a heart. Don't be so insensitive on what you think a vampire really should be. You haven't met me yet in person yet.
