[A/N]: I'm usually never that scared of storms, but tonight as I write this, the thunder and lightning shake the whole house. And I can't sleep. So, short story time! 😅

"Oh my God!" I yelped, as a flash of lighting lit my whole room.

Innie pulled me closer, hugging me tightly. "It's okay, babe."

The thunder shook the whole structure, the vibrations rocking the furniture in my bedroom. "Eeek!"

Innie sighed as he pet my pair, kissing the top of my head. "It will pass. Don't worry. It's okay, I'm here."

I snuggled closer to Innie, my heart beating faster. I usually wasn't that frightened of thunderstorms. But when they shook my whole existence, now that was a different story.

Innie started humming, his voice soothing me. I signed and nuzzled against his chest. He held me tight as the lightning and thunder called and answered - the sky dark -to lit up- and loud.

Innie kissed my forehead again, shying away from my lips. It's not like we haven't kissed. He's just shy and reserved about it. But, we haven't made out ...

"(Y/N)?" Innie called, snapping me out of that not-so-innocent thought.

"Hmmm?"

"Are you feeling better now? The storm is starting to die down," he said, turning to face me.

I nodded, reaching out to comb my fingers through his hair. "Mhm. Thank you."

He smiled softly, closing his eyes as I played with his hair. A few moments later, he opened his eyes and shot up. "Oh wait!" He said, jumping out of bed.

"Innie!" I called after my boyfriend. "Innie, where are you going?"

Instead of a response, I was met with a few seconds of silence. He came racing back in, holding two stuffies/squishies in his arms. "Here (Y/N). This will help."

I took the pink Squishie, hugging it tight as the loud thunder started up again. "Thanks, Innie." I leaned forward to kiss his cheek, making him blush and look away. I chuckled. "You're so shy..."

He hid his face behind the tan Squishie, showing only his pretty eyes.

"What? I think it's cute. Come on, Innie." I gestured for him to put the stuffie down. He did, and leant forward to kiss his lips.

He was flustered at first, but kissed me back - his hand gently caressing my face as he pulled me closer ever so slightly. We kissed a few more times before he pulled away.

"Come here. Cuddle," he said, laying down and opening his arms for me.

I lay in his arms, relaxing as the storm starts to pass. I hold the Squishie, feeling safe in my boyfriend's arms. He plays with my hair, gently unknotting it with his fingers.

We cuddle like that and eventually fall asleep.
