Chapter 1 | A Cry In The Water

Dreams POV

I laid myself down under a tree as I waited for my friends George and Sapnap to arrive. I looked ahead of me to see the beach with its amazing crystal clear waters, at least, parts of the water was crystal clear. People tend to throw their garbage and waste into the water. I sighed and picked myself off the ground. It'd be a while until Sapnap and George arrived so I might as well help the earth.

I began to plan out my course of action when I saw a big chest being help by a fallen tree in the water, 'I might as well start in the water.' I thought. The chest was big and by the looks of the branches on the tree it was maybe a bit heavy. I decided I won't get it till Sapnap and George arrive so I'll go for the floating trash.

I roll up my pants and head into knee-deep water. I begin by grabbing a nearby cloth bag and  begin putting all the trash and waste I came upon, hear and there I'd find some stuff that was intact that was useful. My mind kept wandering to a question that was trapped in my mind, what was in that chest? Maybe it was useful potions, paper, books, weapons, or maybe armor. It could also be food or clothing. Me, George, and Sapnap could use all that stuff since we are on our own now. I just had to know what it was. I continued to pick up the trash when I looked up at the sky, it was now noon since the sun was high in the middle of the sky. I looked back down to see two figure waving at me as the left the shady oak forest.
I made my way to the beach as George and Sapnap took a breather under the tree I had been at, they both wore their normal styled clothes, Sapnap wore a crop that stopped at his chest with his flame image on the top, he wore a long sleeved shirt underneath that cover any parts the crop didn't. George wore his blue college jock jacket on top of his shirt with the rectangle in the middle, with the outer part red and the middle white. They both wore similar pants to mine.
"What took you guys so long?" I asked finally reaching them.
"Sorry Dream," Sapnap responded, " Gogy here had to deal with his family."
"I hope it wasn't too bad for you two. " George looked up and took in a deep breathe.
"I'm just glad we're all free now." Sapnap and I nodded our heads. We had been planning to run away for months now. And now that we had done it, we felt less anxious and free to finally be ourselves.
We all sat down and began to talk,
"So did you bring the blankets and pillows Sapnap?"
"Yeah, I had to wait for my dad to leave the house before I could get everything but it will be worth it. "
"Nice, did you get the food George?"
"Yep, I only brought stuff that won't get old soon. So We have water, uncooked fish and other meats. And watermelon seeds so we can plant them when we find a place to settle down."
"Ok, I brought the tents, flint and steal, supplies for a campfire, fishing poles, and clothes to last us a week."
Me, George, and Sapnap continued to chat about how we would move from here. When I remembered,
"Oh my god, I almost forgot. " George and Sapnap stopped what the were saying and looked at me,
"I found this big chest but it's heavy and partially in the water so I couldn't get it. Could you guys help me get it?" They agreed to help me and we made our way to the tree. We each made our way up the tree towards the chest. Now that I looked at it carefully I could see marking on it of what ancient gods and goddess' tongue. I could see wings arched into the wood, on the top read a name. Y/m/n, I wonder who they were.

I quickly made my way to the other side of the chest and grabbed the handle, Sapnap grabbed the other side while George guided us, I carefully made my way back to the sandy ground and made sure George didn't fall. As Sapnap made it onto the sand the bottom of the chest hit some roots and from inside came a cry. Sapnap looked up at me and we shared the same thought, 'Was someone inside the chest?!' We quickly made our way to the shady tree and put the big wooden box onto the soft yellow sand.

We tried to open it but on the front of the it was a latch that seemed to be lock,
"How do we open it? " George questioned, I quickly grabbed a nearby piece if medal and began to picklock the keyhole.

Sapnaps' POV

--------------------

Dream quickly began to pick at the inside of the chests lock, I grew worried for whoever was inside. 'What if they were dehydrated or hungry. We had so much that could only last us..' I walked over to the wood box and knocked on the top, out came another cry, but this time it didn't stop. We all took a step back in panic,
"There's a baby in there!" George shouted, Dream began to pick at the lock again until his face brighten.
"I got it! " He grunted as he tried to open the top,
"Here let me help. " I hurried to Dreams side and we held onto the edge of the top.
"1.. 2.. 3! " We lifted at the same time and used all our strength, at last the chest opened and we looked inside.

In it, a small little girl with s/c skin wailed, under her were piles on piles of clothing, fabrics, and materials that could be used to make tools. George came into action and picked her up into his arms. He stepped aside as me and Dream looked to see if there was anything else.
"Wait.. Dream. "
"Yes, Sapnap? " He turned to face me,
"Is it just me or is it quiet.." We both looked up to see George playing with the baby, she giggled and cooed as he rocked her and made baby talk. He looked at us realizing we we're looking at him.
"Aww, Gogy has a soft spot for kids. " Dream exclaimed. Georges cheeks turned a bright red.

~An hour later~

"What do we do now? We can't just leave her or anything. " George explained as he let her use his fingers as a chew toy.
"Well we have to do make a decision because it will affect us from here on. " Dream continued the conversation.
"We should keep her, she doesn't have family that we know of and look at what she's already done for us. " We were sitting in front of one of the tents Dream had brought, we had left the beach and moved further into the woods. But we didn't stray to far from where we were incase we saw something.

We had emptied the chest we found the baby in and put everything out to dry. A lot of the stuff was very useful and we we're going to keep all of it. mainly because it had a lot of clothes for us and her, food we could use for her, materials we could use to make tools to mine and chop down trees in order to make a home, the chest was filled with baby stuff, and it had a crafting bench we could use. Dream sighed,
"We will keep her and raise her ourselves. She needs us more than we need her, and who knows. Maybe she'll teach us stuff along the way. " George smiled as he held her close,
"Your name will be Y/n, and your middle name will be Y/M/n! We will nickname you N/n." The oblivious Y/n smiled and giggled. Me and Dream looked and stared at each other.

'Oh what an adventure we will have..'

I know this is really bad but I kind of made this at like 11 at night and finally finished around 1:30 am and I'm tired so yeah, if there's any kind of mistakes I am very sorry but I'm sleep deprived so yeah. Just let me know what y'all see that you guys don't like.
