The smell of salt sand and sun screen flooded my senses as i stood in the very dimly lit dressing room.My best friend of 15 years mari begged me too go with her too the beach and well i couldn't resist her pleading with me

"aww come on it will be fun pretty please y/n?"

I could feel my nose scrunch up a bit and my cheeks turn a slight red color.I sighed as i finished putting on the red swim suit and hat mari had bought me on and very nervously stepped out of the dressing room.

"You look amazing!!!" Mari cheered hugging me sensing my embarrassment.

"Thank you mari" i said under my breath barley loud enough for her too hear

"Are you ready too go?" She asked smiling brightly at me as she grabbed my hand only giving me enough time too nod before she took off hand in twined with mine

The sun penetrated my eyes as i heard kids and teens laughing as their parents watched in glee seagulls flying above my head as i tried too squint to see everything a bit better

"Isn't it all so beautiful?" Mari question as she smiled

"Yeah it really is i haven't been too the beach before so its kinda scary" i nervously giggled

"Well there is always a first time for everything as i always say!" She beamed smile becoming even wider as she drug me near the water

"I promise it will be fine here i will go in with you too!" She said as she dipped her feet into the ocean turning around too face my and drag me in bit by bit with her

"See not that bad right?" I watched her face light up more as a nodded my head as she continued till we where both in knee deep water

"See isn't this fun?" She said as she went too scoop up some water

"Yeah it sur-" i was cut off by a splash too the face with water

"Hey no fair that was a surprise attack!" I wiped the water off my face trying too be able too see once more only too be hit with another splash of water

"Im so gonna get you mari!"

"Catch me if you can y/n!"

As the sun started too set me and mari where both tired slowly emerging out of the water soaked

"Here you go y/n!" Mari said throwing me a towel my favorite one with tiny cherries and strawberries on it

"Thank you mari today was so much fun" i could tell my hair was starting too become dry as we both sat down on the beach towel perfectly placed on the cream colored sand

"Of course im so glad you liked it." She paused "here take a strawberry!" She said handing me a chocolate covered strawberry from her picnic basket

"Maybe we should do stuff like this again?" For the first time i saw her nervous with slight shaky hands

I smiled at her and intwined her hands with mine

"Sure i would love too."
