GOODBYE DAD

"mom,what did the doctor say?"I asked but my mom said nothing as she continues to look at my dad. (Years back)
"Honey,that's a child's cry I hear" Clara said to her husband and also urging him to check where the sound was coming from and found the child.
"It's a baby girl and she's so beautiful"said Clara's husband "but who would do such a cruel thing to such a tender child"Clara asked noone in particular as they keep staring at the baby,blood could still be seen on some of the baby's body."Why don't we take her home then next morning we can go to the station"Clara suggested and her husband agreed. They left for home.
Next morning,they were at the station with the baby explaining everything to the officer in charge,"we'll try our best to help the situation"he said trying to reassure them and with that they left with the child,days turned to weeks,weeks to month and onths to years still no trace of the girl's biological parents. Then they made the decision to adopt her along with the officer approval,they named her Ava. She grew up to be beautiful and smart,she was loved by everyone even at school most of the teachers loved her because she was intelligent
Some years later,her father fell ill and he was diagnosed with heart problem and his health has become critical
(Present time)
"Mom,why don't you rest for a while?huh!!"
"I can't,your father needs me"
"But mom...."she got interrupted
"Can you please make us breakfast?"
"Okay mom",I said and left there.
I came home and started preparing breakfast then the bell rang,I went to get it and turned out to be Ivy,ivy is my bestfriend since child. "How's your dad's health?"
"I guess he's getting better,mom isn't telling me anything about the surgery and worst she hasn't rested at all"
Ivy just looked at me and then she hugged me,I needed that cause right now I'm breaking without even knowing it.
Ivy and I got to the hospital and when we got to my dad's ward he wasn't there and neither was my mom,I hurriedly asked the nurses but then Ivy tapped me gesturing then I looked behind me,saw my mom and I rushed to her
"Mom,where's dad?" But no response from her then I heard the screech of a ward bed turned out it was my dad's bed,I stopped them to confirm and it really was my dad with clothes that covered him. I became confused,I tried waking him up but he won't wake up then it hit me,"my dad is gone,my dad is gone" I repeated in my head,hot tear trickled down my eyes and I let it flow,I cried as I couldn't help it, Ivy held me and tried to console me but I shoved her aside.

The funeral commenced, everyone who knew my dad came and I was surprised at the mass of people that came,"a great man is gone,a man of virtue,of peace is no more. Today I pray that God pls accept this selfless man and protect us that remains"pastor prayed
"Amen" all responded
With that,I said goodbye to my dad,a hero like no other,a father that's rare as a gem. "Goodbye Dad,I'm gonna miss you"I said in tears
