New Beginning

Mom, Ivy and I got home later in the evening,mom went straight to her room with dad's photo in her hand.
Ivy helped me prepare an early dinner for mom, "Ivy,thanks for today,I really appreciate it"
"Why would u thank me? What are friends for?"
I smiled,I was lucky to have someone like Ivy beside me,she was truly a friend. We finished and I dished out mom's food and took it upstairs to her room. "Mom,I prepared dinner for you,can I come in?" But no response,I asked again still the same thing so I decided to open the door since it wasn't locked on getting inside I found out that she was fast asleep so I let her be. Went downstairs back,I saw Ivy washing the dish,"allow me do it,you've tried enough already"
But she won't let me and I let her be. After everything was done Ivy was about to go home,"I'll call you when I get home,ok." And I nodded and she left,now it's just me and my thoughts,I went to my room and sat on the bed. I couldn't believe that my dad was gone,it was like a dream or should I say nightmare,I kept thinking and thinking without knowing when I fell asleep.
I woke up early to check on mom but found out she was up early as well,"mom,how you feeling?"I asked with worriedness
"I'm fine sweetie,I'm alright"
It was strange to see her change overnight but was also good she back to herself. I went back to my room to prepare for school,when I was done I came out to eat breakfast then mom dropped the bomb
"Wait...WHAT?"
"You heard me,we are moving to New York"
"But mom...what about my school? What about Ivy?" I asked in surprise
"Don't worry,I arranged all that,okay"
"So when are we moving?"
"On Saturday,so that we can prepare your things for your new school"
I couldn't believe what was happening,I got to school and what was expected many of the students console me but that wasn't on my mind,I needed to find Ivy and tell her about my mom's plan
"Ivy,I've been looking all over for you"
"What's going on?"
"Mom said we are moving to New York"
"What?! When did she decide that?"
"This morning,and worst part we are moving out this weekend Saturday to be precise"
Ivy couldn't believe it nor could I,the rest of school was not sooo interesting....

Saturday came in a whiff,I was sad but what can I do? Mom's made her decision and it was final. I packed all my clothes and things and was ready for the journey I guessed,I wasn't ready to leave this beautiful home of mine,I wasn't ready to leave my bestfriend but I guess it's how it's really gonna be.
The van started so did our car and within a twinkle I left my home and on a quest to an unknown city,I was quiet during the whole trip,sad and brooding,mom could sense that but she didn't say a word. Later that day,we got to New York and behold the city was huge and it wasn't exactly the way I pictured it because it was better.
We got to our house and it was kind of bigger than our former house,mom alighted from the car and I followed suit. I went inside and it was beautiful on the inside,I started looking at each of the side of the house admiring every beauty of it. "Now,it's time to settle down,go upstairs and pick any room of your choice"and with that I stormed off upstairs,I began my search for a good room and I found one and settled in.
We finished with the setting of the house and tired than ever I went upstairs to take a shower and change my clothes then came back downstairs meet mom preparing dinner. We settled down around the table and began eating,I couldn't eat much cause I was already so tired from all the work we did today.
"Mom,how's my new school gonna be like?" I asked in curiosity then she looked me before gulping down the food in her mouth
"Don't worry,you'll see for yourself on Monday,now go to your room and rest,okay"
With that,I left the table and went straight to my room,I couldn't stop thinking why she made this decision but I think it's for the best with that I fell asleep.
