"Christ's sake", you yell, messing up the solo yet again.

"Baaaaaaaaaaabe", you hear Eddie's Tarzan-type yell from outside. You quickly bundle away your little amp, put your guitar on its stand, run to your bedroom window and stick your head out.

A huge smile erupts across your face as you see Eddie standing on top of your car, his hands cupped around his mouth, shouting another, "Baaaaaaaabe! I've arrived!!!!" As he spots you, he moves his hands away to reveal a cute, mischievous smile and gives you a little wave.

You run down the stairs, pass your Mom and Dad, and open the door to Eddie, one arm above him leaning against the door frame. With his other hand, he takes off his aviators, offers a smooth "Hi", and raises an eyebrow at you.

You try to look annoyed, but it is impossible when confronted with all this, "You have a key, remember?"

He picks a bunch of keys from his pocket, "You mean these?"

You nod.

"Well, I know that, but I like it when you greet me at the door, babe." He says, putting his arms around your waist, walking you backwards into the house, and giving you a peck on the lips.

"Parental units", he greets them cheerfully.

"Hi, Eddie," they say in unison.

"Neither of you could hear him yelling outside?" You ask accusingly.

Your Mom tuts putting her hand on her hip and pointing the wooden spoon she's cooking with at you, "He likes it when you answer the door, Moonbeam."

"See, even Mama knows," he says softly, looking into your eyes, still walking you backwards through the house towards the stairs.

"Are you pair eating here with us tonight?" Your Dad asks from behind his paper.

"No thanks, Pops, we're out tonight," You say, trying not to fall over, as you are still being stepped backwards towards the stairs.

Eddie tears his eyes from yours to peep at what your Mom is cooking, "But you know if there are any leftovers..." He says, licking his top lip discreetly.

Your Dad laughs, "What's a leftover, lad?"

Eddie pouts a little but is immediately rescued by your Mom,  "Now Tom, behave! There is plenty. I'll put some aside for you, Sunbeam."

Eddie pokes his tongue out at you and your Dad and mouths silently, "I'm the favourite".

Then quickly flutters his eyelashes at your Mom when she suddenly turns around, almost catching him, "That's so kind of you. Thank you" He beams at her genuinely.

Your Dad imitates retching behind his paper at Eddie.

"Tom!!" Your Mom scolds him. You don't think you've ever seen your Dad look so sheepish. Eddie's closed-mouth smile expands in a very satisfied way.

You quickly take his hand and guide him upstairs before he stirs the pot further, which he absolutely relishes.

"So I figure we get the core math done and then head out?" You say as you walk over to your neighbouring desks.

He's distracted playing with your hand and fingers. Finally, he opens the hand holding his and brushes the back of his hand across your fingertips. A grin erupts on his face, "Someone...has been practising", he says, eyeing you and then your guitar.

"Well, I'm not just gonna stare at it, am I? So Math, right?" You try to brush off the conversation and focus on homework.

"Right. I'm glad you're not just staring at it," Eddie says, ruffling your hair as you sit down, "What are you practising?" He asks, taking out his books.
