I feel Keefe's lips hitting my cheek and I was about to give him a peck as well, but the reporters had shown up.
"Dangit," I hear Keefe mutter underneath his breath.
Keefe plasters on a fake smile.
"Are you supposed to be here?"
Fitz, walking up, mutters something incoherently.
He shoots Keefe an apologetic look. "I offered them an interview," He says weakly.
Keefe speaks through his smile. "And you didn't think to tell me?"
"Actually, they wanted an interview with both of you."
Keefe looks at me. "At least I won't have to suffer through this torture alone,"
I groan through my smile. "Do I have to?"
Fitz replies. "Well, as America's most popular singers, you kinda have to."
"Great." I say, dryly.
Now it's time for the interview.
"Why did you choose that specific song to sing?"
Keefe answers this one. "Well, it's always been a favorite song of ours, and we thought, what th heck? Might as well go for it." He gives a golden smile for the cameras.
"Last question, promise. Care to comment on that kiss?"
My turn. "We can sue for invasion of personal privacy. You have no right to post that picture when the interview hasn't even started."
The reporter clearly wasn't expecting this. "Well, it's my job."
"And professionally singing is ours. Publicity is everything. Would really take the chance to improve yours, even if it means ruining ours?"
The reporter pauses before snapping her notebook shut. "That will be all. Thank you for your time."
I breathe a sigh of relief.
Keefe gives me a hug. "Congrats on your first interview!"
"I didn't realize you celebrities had to go through all of this," I wave my hands around.
His smile dims. "Yeah, well, it's part of the job. But it's worth it."
There's a moment of silence, and I feel myself leaning closer, and....
Fitz interrupts. "Guys! Update your Insta!"
I blush, embarrassed we got caught.
