Then George looked at me. "He doesn't want the drink." George said. "He does." I said. "I don't." Roger Rabbit said. "You do." I said. "I don't." Roger Rabbit said. "You do." I said. "I don't." Roger Rabbit said. "You do." I said. "I don't." Roger Rabbit said. I realized that I was not getting anywhere with it so I switched it around on him. "You don't." I said. "I do." Roger Rabbit said. "You don't." I said. "I do." Roger Rabbit said. "You don't." I said. "Listen, when I say I do that means I do!" Roger Rabbit said as he took the cup out of my hand. Then he drank the drink and the same thing happened like it did in R. K. Maroon's office. I went under the bar and pulled John down under the bar with me. While he was up in the air I jumped over the bar and fought off the weasels. I caught Roger Rabbit as he was about to fall into the dip. "Gotcha kid." I said. Then I knocked over the barrel full of dip and we ran out. "Come on Ariel, let's get out of here!" Roger Rabbit said as we ran out. "That was quick thinking Ariel. Nothing like using the old spine flower, the wise noodle, the--" Roger Rabbit said before I stopped him by grabbing him by the ears. "Roger! Let's use this." I said as I threw him into the front of the toon patrol vehicle. "Let's get out of here. What're you waiting for?" Roger Rabbit said. "There's no damn key." I said. "Hey, you weasels, let me outta here will ya?" Come on, I gotta make a living." We heard Benny the cab say. "Benny, is that you?" Roger Rabbit said. "No, it's Eleanor Roosevelt. Come on Roger. Get me out of here." Benny said. "Ariel, we got ourselves a ride. Open the doors." Roger Rabbit said. I got out and opened the back doors on the vehicle and Benny came out with Roger Rabbit in the drivers seat. "Ahh, that better. I can't believe they locked me up for driving on the sidewalk." Benny said. "Come on Ariel. Get in." Roger Rabbit said. "It was just a couple of miles." Benny said as I got into the driver seat. "I'll drive." I said. "But I wanna drive." Roger Rabbit said. "No, I'll drive. I'm the cab. How about this weather huh? It never rains." Benny said. Then the weasels ran out. "They sprung the cab. Let's go." Smartass said. "And how about those Brooklyn Dodgers? Are they bums or what?" Benny said. The weasels got into the toon patrol vehicle. "Move over, I'm driving." Smartass said. Then they started to come after me and Roger Rabbit. "Benny, Ariel, we got company!" Roger Rabbit said. "Would you look at these two." Benny said before driving past two cars right in between them. "Now that's what I call a couple of road hogs." Benny said. Then there was a gunshot from one of the weasels. "I'm gonna blow his head off." Smartass said before firing another shot at us. Just then a streetcar got into our path. "Benny, look out for the streetcar!" Roger Rabbit said. Benny turned around and started to drive in the opposite direction from the way we were going. The weasels were still after us. Then some police officers that were on their motorcycles started to come after us. "Benny, there's cops right behind us!" Roger Rabbit said. "Not for long Roger." Benny said as he started to back up into an alleyway. "Now they're right in front of us." Benny said as the police officers were still coming after us. "Ariel were going backwards. Turn us around! Give me the wheel!" Roger Rabbit said. We turned around and the police were still behind us. "The cops are still on our tail." Roger Rabbit said. "I know the cops are on our tail. What do you think I am blind?" I asked. Then the weasels started to come at us from the front. "Pull the lever!" Benny said. "I'm gonna ram them." Smartass said. Then I pulled the lever and it made Benny taller. We got back out onto the street on the other side of the alleyway. "I'm getting too old for this." Benny said. The weasels ended up ramming into the police officers instead and made them fall off their motorcycles. Meanwhile on the main road Roger Rabbit saw what happened behind us. "Hey, Roger, what do you call the middle of a song?" Benny asked. "A bridge!" Roger Rabbit said as we approached a bridge. We got onto the bridge. "Well fellas, where can I drop ya?" Benny said. "Somewhere we can hide." Roger Rabbit said. "I got just the place. And incidentally, if you should ever need a ride, just stick out your thumb." Benny said. Benny dropped us off at the movie theater and there was a cartoon playing. Everyone that was watching the cartoon was laughing but I wasn't. "Boy, did you see that? Nobody takes a wallop like Goofy. What timing. What finesse. What a genius." Roger Rabbit said. I pulled him back into the row I was sitting in by his ears. "We're supposed to be hiding. What's wrong with you?" I asked as I wacked him in the back of his head. "Ow. What's wrong with you? You're the only person in this theater that isn't laughing. Is there nothing that can permeate your impervious puss?" Roger Rabbit said before doing something that would normally make me laugh. "What could have possibly happened to turn you into such a sourpuss?" Roger Rabbit said. "You wanna know?" I asked. Roger Rabbit nodded. "I'll tell you. A toon killed my brother." I said. "A toon? No." Roger Rabbit said. "That's right, a toon. We were looking for some of the toons in toontown. Back in those days, Calvin and I liked going to toontown. It was a lot of laughs. Anyway, this guy... got away with a few of the toons. We trailed him to a little dive down on Yockster street. We went in. Only he got the drop on us, literally. Dropped a piano on us from fifteen stories. Broke my arm. Calvin never made it. I never did find out who that guy was. All I remember was, he was standing over me laughing, with those burning red eyes and that high, squeaky voice. He disappeared into toontown after that." I said. Then John walked in as a news real started to play. "So you got all my stuff?" I asked John when he sat down next to me. "Yes, it's all packed up in the car outside." John said.
