Steve Harrington, who was once the King of Hawkins High, was working with his new best friend, Robin Buckley, at Family Video after the mall, where they met and worked together, went up in flames. "She laughed at my joke, Steve. I'm-" "She laughed at my joke, Robin." Steve said in a tone mocking his friend next to him, who just rolled her eyes. "Really mature, Steve. Glad to see you've finally grown up." Robin joked. "Alright, alright, stop talking already," Steve spoke as he was checking out a movie for a customer. They were a regular costumer, so they weren't that confused at their fighting. "I'm just glad I don't obsess over a crush!" He groaned and spun around to face Robin as he said goodbye to their customer. "God, do you ever even have a crush? You go out with, like, more than 5 people a month!" Robin scoffed and went over to help a customer who seemed like they were having trouble picking what movie to get. Robin smirked as she did this, knowing she got the last word.
Steve turned his head the opposite way and saw a small, metal fan they had wasn't turned on. He slid over and flipped the switch on. Even though it was almost dark out, it was hot. It was the middle of summer, so it wasn't a big deal.. is what he would think if they always got blazing heat during summertime. It was usually hot, but not like this. This had to have been one of the most warm summers ever.

Steve turned the open sign around, to inform people that the Family Video was closed, and locked the door while Robin was ranting about her crush, Vickie, who was in band with her.
"Oh, are you guys closed already?" Steve recognized the voice that was speaking, but he hasn't heard it in so long that he forgot who it was. He spun around to see Eddie Munson, frowning with his hands in his pockets. "We can only let you rent one movie, since we were closing." Steve groaned as he turned back around and grabbed the keys from his pockets. "Make it quick, Munson." Steve murmured, as he held the door open for the long haired boy, after his best friend sleepily told him to give her the keys, so she can turn on the air conditioning, saving herself from the heat at last. Steve went behind the counter in the middle of the store and waited for his late customer to pick out a movie, so he can finally go home. "Do you want to come over and watch it with me?" Eddie asked as he placed his movie selection, only containing a horror movie, on the counter in front of Harrington."I dunno.. I don't have anything to do.. Is it okay if I invite Robin along?" Steve thought about the question he was just asked. He did like crime movies, but he didn't know if Robin did and he almost always brought Robin with him. He was also kinda scared of being with Munson without her. Steve checked out the movie Eddie was going to rent and handed it back to him, accidentally brushing his hand against Munson's. "Of course, address and phone number." Eddie said as he placed a small piece of paper on the counter and walked out. "Munson, you know I can drive you, if you want?" Steve stopped him when Eddie held onto the door handle, which was halfway open. "Really?" Eddie looked back at him and grinned.
Steve and Eddie got into the car, Eddie in the seat behind Steve's. Harrington turned around to face Eddie, and tugged gently on the movie case he was holding, a kind of way to ask if he could see it for a second. Munson let go of it, and Steve smiled, as a thank you, and turned towards Robin."You wouldn't mind going with me to Munson's place and watching this, right?" Steve asked, holding up the horror.
"Gross, Steve.." The short haired girl in the passenger seat groaned, "..no way! I hate that movie so much.." she grumbled, Steve scoffed. "At least go with me?" Steve frowned with puppy eyes. "Fine." Robin said after she finally gave in. Steve looked at Eddie with a smirk in the review mirror, and Eddie just smiled back.

Steve drove all of them straight to Eddie's place. "It's nice." Robin looked around. There were random bottles, different clothing. There were cigarettes in an ashtray on a small circle table next to the couch. In the hallway, there were paintings on the walls, a few doodles here and there, which Eddie probably drew while he was high. "It is.." Steve mumbled as he walked over to where the TV was, and the horror in, the movie ready to watch whenever. "Do you guys just wanna watch them movie or is there something else we can do for a bit afterwards?" Steve plopped down on the couch and sighed. "I dunno, but I have to get home by 11PM, so I can't stay all night." Robin stated and she smirked at Steve, who just gave her a look that was a mix between confused and angry. He didn't want to be alone with Eddie, and he knew that was what she was smirking about.
"That's alright with me." Eddie frowned, so it obviously wasn't fine with him. He didn't know what to talk about with Steve after Robin left. If Steve would even stay at all after. "Let's watch the movie now!" Steve grinned widely, changing the way he sat into a more comfortable position. "No way am I watching it. Can I just call Nancy over? We would have something to talk about, unlike you two." Robin sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. Eddie, where's your phone so I can call her over?" Eddie seemed to mouth, 'Oh' as he sat up and pointed to a door at the end of the hallway. It was decorated with two or three medium sized music posters and multiple small pictures of bands live at concerts and things like that. "It's in there." Eddie replied with words this time. "Thanks," Robin smiled as Steve and Eddie watched her disappear through the open door down the hallway. "Now what, Munson?" Steve questioned as he waited for his best friend to come back. They just sat silently after that question was asked. Nobody ended up answering, but they found something to do.
Neither of them know how, but they ended up talking about their interests. They were both sitting on the couch next to each other, happily talking about what they enjoyed and what they didn't. Robin called Nancy over, and they were outside on the steps leading up to Eddie's front door. When Nancy first came, and before they wanted to sit outside, it was awkward between Steve and Nancy, because of everything that happened before. "How's uhm, Johnathan?" Steve asked while his eyes darted around the room, looking at random things to save himself from the silence. "Yeah, he's doing great. We're doing great." Nancy said, trying to convince herself. "You guys are doing great. That's nice.." Steve replied awkwardly. Robin then thought up the idea to go outside, since it was still really nice out.
Nancy walked outside first, followed by Robin, who Steve talked to privately before she went. "What the hell? I didn't ask about how they're doing! It's- I don't care!" Robin let Steve rant, but they ended their talk quick, and returned to their friends in Eddie's living room area.
"Alright, Munson," Steve sighed after there was a moment of silence between them after Rob and Nancy left them to sit outdoors. "..what are we gonna do now?" Both of them sat in thought. Eddie lifted his eyes to look at Steve's. His eyes were pretty. They were dark brown, almost matching his perfect hair. Eddie wondered how someone could possibly keep their hair perfect all the time. He never thought he would see someone with amazing hair, like how they say in movies, but there was Steve. Perfect hair.. and eyes.. and... and everything..?
