School can be a deathtrap

I don't wanna be a frog!

     After an all night cramming I woke up late. I threw on some clothes and skipped breakfast. I met up with Penelope and we jogged to school. We found Shamu's house and we knocked on the door. It looked like Tammy had aged again, because she got bigger. We entered the house to find Shamus holding a bag. He turned around and smiled. He reached in the bag and handed Penelope two things. One was a pearl necklace and the other was a magic wand. The wand was typical all white with a star at the end. He then handed me a silver ring with a ruby stone in it. I slipped it on and Penelope put her necklace on and put the wand in her pocket. Shamus smiled and led us to an emty field. He then pulled out a sword and pointed it at me.

     "Your first." he said with a smile. I stepped into the field holding the katana he taught me how to summon. He then lunged with the sword. I blocked, spun, and sent a slice of my own.

     "Where is an Ogre's only weak spot?" he asked while blocking.

     "The pinkey toe on the right foot!" I yelled blocking his attacks.

     "What is the favorite snack of a phoenix?" he asked.

      "Hot coals!" I yelled thrusting my katana foward.

     "Where should you never take a werewolf?" he inquired.

     "A mine of any kind!" I yelled spinning with the katana in a circle. The blade began to glow a bright purple as it unleashed a bolt of purple lightning that Shamus barely dodged.

     He put his sword away and said," Very good."

     "Now you." he said pinting his finger at Penelope. She nodded and stepped into the clearing clutching the wand. Shamus raised his hand and it glowed an amber color. Two foot long scorpions appeared out of nowhere and began to attack Penelope. She raised her hands in defense and they glowed bright red. One of the scorpions was immediately engulfed in flames. She looked shock then raised her hand again. This time a storm of ants swept the scorpion away.

     " What is a witches most precious resource!" Shamus yelled sending a volley of lightning bolts at her.

     "Her mana!" she yelled back! Blocking each bolt and smacking her hand on the ground.

     "Why?" he asked. Getting ready for the next attack.

      "Without it she can't use magic!" she yelled as spikes popped out of the ground.

       "Why can't you ever feed an ice dragon spicey food?" Shamus yelled while melting the spikes.

     "It will melt there innards!" She yelled sending a storm of snow at him.

     "What is the power of a skin walker?" he inquired. Sending blazing fireballs at her.

     "They are people that can become any animal they desire!" she yelled her eyes changing to the color red. She clapped her hands and vines entangled Shamus and hung him upside down.

     "Very good." Shamus said. Penelope let him down and he eagerly ran into his house. He ran back out carrying to giant eggs. He handed a red one to me and a brownish one to her.

     "Homework is keeping these eggs until tomorrow." he said pushing us towards school. We both put our eggs in our backpacks keeping them safe. We walked into sciece and Mr. Zard looked at me with a sheer hatered. We sat down with no one else in the class when Mr. Zard yelled.

     "You think, because your caretakers you can hurt a unicorn!" I looked at him strangely then recalled Stanley.

     "How do you know about that?" Penelope asked.

     "Because just like Mr. Clops I am not a normal teacher." he yelled. Just then the doors slammed and Penelope was encircled in a bubble of blue energy. She smacked the walls with no effect. Then Mr. Zard pointed a finger towards me and a bolt of lightning shot at me. I raised my hand to defend myself and to my surprise it worked. My hand was now covered in a gauntlet with a giant ruby in the palm. I slapped the ground and the lightning broke free. I summoned my sword and sliced Mr. Zard who vanished into smoke.I looked around and he reapeared behind me. I slapped my back and unleashed bolts of electricity into me. I managed to turn around and slash at him again. Of course he vanished and reapered across the room. Then I got an idea. I ran over to Penelope and placed my gauntlet hand on the bubble. The ruby absorbed the energy and Penelope was free. She raised her hand and a couple of tables floated and were thrown at Mr. Zard. He teleported out of the way and blasted fire everywhere. Penelope created a shield of energy and launched balls of fire at Mr. Zard. He blocked them and began to vanish. I jumped towards him and grabbed his arm. He instantly became solid and could no longer use magic. I punched him in the face with my hand and he staggered backwards. Then Penelope jumped, did a spin, and kicked Mr. Zard in the face. This knocked him out and he laid down on the floor as we laughed. I groaned and sat down in a chair.

     "Busy day." Penelope said. I nodded and waited for the Mr. Zard wake up and start teaching.
