Hi! So for those who have read this story before, my little brother accidentally deleted it. But don't worry because I had all of the chapters saved! It might seem a little different because I switched somethings up a bit but nothing too drastic.

Without further ado, enjoy the chapter!

I don't own Naruto! (Unfortunately)

08.10.2016: THIS STORY HAS BEEN REWRITTEN TITLED "Toxicant". WHILE YOU ARE WELCOME TO READ THIS, PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR SOME CLICHE "WTF?" MOMENTS. I WAS THIRTEEN WHEN I WROTE THIS AND HAVE IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY.

|| Chapter One ||

|| Kathena pov... ||

I watch as Naruto is thrown into the classroom tied in ropes.

"Ha! Naruto got in trouble again!" Ino exclaims. A lot of my classmates laugh and Naruto laughs with them. I'm not laughing though. I don't find it funny.

While Iruka Sensei explains things I should be paying attention to, I pick at the sliver spiderweb that's on my arm. It was on the back of my wrist. Thank Kami no one takes notice of it.

"Kathena!" I look up at Iruka Sensei. "You seem to have this down right since your not paying attention. Why don't you go first?" I nod and got up, walking to the front of my class. "What am I supposed to do?" I ask. "What!? You weren't even paying attention to that!?" Iruka Sensei screams at me.

I hate it when people scream at me.

"Guess so." I shrug my shoulder. "Kathena! Wait outside!" So that's what I did.

"She's so stupid." Bo, a girl that iall talk, mutters to a girl named Kim. I don't even understand why they're friends; they always fight. They're the stupid ones. "She a freak." One of Bo's friends whisper as if I couldn't hear. My hands clench, the sliver cobweb turning a dark red.

I close the door behind me gently so I won't disturb Iruka Sensei's lesson. I don't understand why he sent me out here.

I hate it when people do things without reason.

After about 15 minutes, I get bored of just standing there so I head outside. I like the outdoors. Nature is peaceful while inside...well Ino is inside and when Ino is in the room, you know something loud is bound to happen.

Unless your in a room with Naruto. Poor kid. He's shunned upon by the villagers for who knows what. It isn't fair but his goal to become Hokage will surely change the villagers' minds about him.

I stare up at the cloud filled sky wondering what could be out there. I've been at the Leaf for a while now - I'm thirteen now and I came here when I was ten. I came by myself; I don't live with anyone but my spider, Jesse. He's a spider given to me by my village leader as a child. See in my village, every newborn child is given a spider as a companion.

Jesse is poisonous but he doesn't bite me. His bite, or any Arachnid poison for that matter, doesn't affect me. Jesse told me that the people in my village are naturally immune to poison.

"Iruka Sensei! Kathena is outside!" I hear Kim yell. Before anyone could see me, I jump up and stick to a wall on all fours out if sight. "Kim. No one is there." Iruka Sensei assures. "Kathena is in the hall." He adds heading to the door.

If I get caught then I get another trip to the Hokage's office. He doesn't give me detention or community service or anything like that. We have a talk about school and stuff then Lord Hokage tells Iruka Sensei that we had 'the talk' and that I should behave better in class now.

"Kathena!?" I gulp. Uh oh.

As a last resort, I climb up the wall and ran across the roof of the academy. I open the latch to a door that was led straight to the hallway. I jump in and land right beside Iruka Sensei who is still out in the hall looking for me. "You called me Iruka Sensei?" He screams a very girlish scream and whirls around clutching his heart. "Kathena! There you are! You scared me!" I blink at him blankly. He opens his mouth to say something when a scream came from the classroom.

"Spider!"

"Shino! Don't touch it!"

Iruka Sensei and I run into the room to see all the girls and some boys up on chairs. "Iruka Sensei! Do something!" Sakura screams pointing at the ground.

For these people, Jesse was a scary eight legged creature. To me, Jesse was my best friend and only family I have left.

"Jesse." I say quietly with a sigh and picked up my best friend. "Kathena! Don't touch it!" Iruka Sensei screams. "Why? He belongs to me anyways." I say putting Jesse on my shoulder.

"Can I touch him?" Naruto asks and I walk over to him. "Careful. He does bite."

Jesse once told me that he went searching for me through the village and ended up at Naruto's house. He never told me why though so I don't think he'll harm Naruto.

Speaking of Naruto, he seems okay with touching Jesse who didn't seem to mind either, like expected. "That's cool Kathena! His hair tickles!" Naruto says slightly giggling.

"Kathena! Get your creepy spider away!" One of Sasuke's fangirls screams. "He isn't creepy and his name is Jesse." I scowl walking over to the window. "I'll see you at home." I say quietly so I won't be called a freak again. "Bye Mistress."

"Good! I hope that hideous thing never comes back!" Ino says with relief in her voice. "Crazy blonde." Jesse mutters and with that, he was gone.

With a smirk on my face, I head to my seat in the back of the room next to Shino, Shino Aburame. "Okay class, we're going to practice our shadow illusion technique." Iruka Sensei says but then the bell rang signalling lunch. "After lunch!" He calls. We head to the back of the room to gather our lunches. Mine was a sandwich with cheese.

How I love cheese.

And I have a bottle of apple juice.

How I love apple juice.

I take the short way out and go through the window. Checking to see no one is behind me, I run into the forest to eat lunch at my usual spot. It was a small clearing that has a rock in the middle. Surrounding it is a whole colony of different spiders. I would bring Jesse here but he would just eat them.

I unwrap my sandwich and bite into it looking for Kaasan, in memory of my mother. The spider is beautiful shades of red, yellow and orange like the sunset. My mom loved to watch the sunset so that's why I named the spider after her. The spider is the originally called the 'Sun Spider'.

"Mommy!" I call to my mother. "I'm upstairs kiddo!" My mom calls back. I head outside of our small house and jump onto the wall on all fours. I climb up and sit beside my mom on the roof.

"Mommy. Why are you always up here?" I ask as she put her arm around me. "I like the sunset." She answers with a grin. "Why?" I ask again. "Because it reminds me of Aito's and your daddy's eyes."

I guess watching the sunset grew on me because that's all I do. I never miss it.

After I finish my sandwich, I pull out a notepad and pen. Walking up to some of the spiders, I record them.

I did this for the rest of the lunch period.
