08.10.2016: THIS STORY HAS BEEN REWRITTEN TITLED "Toxicant". WHILE YOU ARE WELCOME TO READ THIS, PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR SOME CLICHE "WTF?" MOMENTS. I WAS THIRTEEN WHEN I WROTE THIS AND HAVE IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY.

|| Chapter Six ||

|| Kathena's POV ||

I step out into the early morning air, not surprised it was warm. I'm in the Land of Fire. Why would it be cold?

Birds chirp a song to each other, signalling a new day. And even though it was at least 5'o clock, people are awake and renewed, ready (or not) for the new day.

I watch a man open a general store, as I made my way to the training grounds. He's whistling a loud tune that shocks me when the birds on top of the store start to sing along. I smile, and continue on my way.

"Nothing beats an early morning training session." I mutter to myself as I come to the training grounds. Only I'm shocked at what I see.

Everything is destroyed.

Confused, I make my way to what is left of a wooden post that is used to practice kunai throwing. It was deprived of its existence when something crashed into it.

What kunai could have done that?

Unless the kunai had chakra into it.

Even then, the chakra would have to be strong and sharp.

I feel a headache coming on as I think who could have destroyed a whole training ground. But only one person came into my mind.

Naruto Uzumaki.

I noticed that Naruto has such an extreme chakra. It's almost unnatural. I only noticed this yesterday when he was trying to hit Kakashi Sensei since Sensei doubted him. Although Naruto was messing around, I felt something stir deep within him. It affected me in many ways.

I couldn't sleep last night. So what could have caused me to stay awake that is connected to Naruto?

I was right; my life is too much like Naruto's.

I sigh and stand up, ready to head home. The training grounds are demolished so what is the point of sta-

"Ouch!"

I hiss at the pain spreading from my foot to my ankle. Falling backwards, I sit on my butt and bring the bottom of my foot into my view. Sucking in a breath, I pull out a thin and sharp wood from one of the posts.

I'm about to throw it away, when I see a purple glint on the tip of it. No, it isn't a substance, the edge of the thin considered-to-be-a-weapon is violet. Although it confused me greatly, I admire it's shine with the sun's rays. I don't realize how much time I spend admiring the wood, until I hear the familiar chatter of the villagers.

I get up and shove the piece of wood in my pocket for later and head to another training ground where we were supposed to meet the Team ten minutes ago.

I don't know my team very well, but I did know a bit about them. Like how Naruto and Sakura often fight and Sasuke always seems to have a bad vibe.

Ah yes, the ever so cheerful Sasuke Uchiha, the last of the Uchiha clan.

"Oh! Good morning Kathena!" Naruto chirps, turning his attention away from the pinkette. Sakura looks at me, sending a closed eye smile whilst waving.

Sasuke glances at me, lets out his famous 'Hn' and went onto staring at the ground again. What could possibly be on his mind...?
