For Them

Chapter Seven: Compromised

Early the next morning Fury got a call from Melina. She called to talk about any new information she had on the red room which was not a lot. But instead they started talking about how Nat and Yelena were adjusting.

"They are doing ok from what I have seen so far. They aren't very open. Nat seems to be getting along with the girls. Yelena seems to just like to keep to herself. She only really talks or hangs out with Nat." Nick explains

"Yeah they both have really bad trust issues but Yelena doesn't do well with new people. She doesn't want to trust. Just give her some time." Melina says feeling a little guilty for that "Any way how's the baby?"

"I don't know yet we are going to get it checked in the morning. I wanted to let them settle in before I send them to get checked out by S.H.I.E.L.D." Nick replies

"Is it really about them? Or are you worried about how the Council will react when they find out you brought two major assassins into the country?" Melina asks

"They aren't major assassins they are children." He defends

"I know that. But they won't care." Melina says

"Ok do you have anything for me on the red room?" Nick asks

"Dreykov is finding a new way to create human weapons. He is teaming up with Hydra. They just lost their Winter Soldier and Dreykov lost his Black Widow so they are teaming up and making something new. Something even worse." She replies

"And what is that?" Nick asks

"I don't know. It's confidential. Have you asked Natasha for information? I'm telling you she knows at least something. Dreykov would bring her with him a lot" Melina says

"I haven't yet. I'm trying to get the girls to trust me before asking them to spill all their secrets." He says

"I'll try to find out more but it's been hard. Since the girls escape Dreykov hasn't been trusting anyone. He is sure there is a mole." 

"Ok call me wh-" Nick was interrupted by Yelena yelling for help"Hang on a minutes Something happened in Nat and Yelena's room." He says already running their way

"OK I'll talk to you later just make sure my girls are ok." Melina says before hanging up

"My girls?" Nick questions but his thoughts get interrupted when Nat screams in pain

Nick doesn't know much about Melina Vostokoff. No one in S.H.I.E.L.D. does. Just that she used to be in the KGB growing up. Long before the Black Widow program was made she left and joined S.H.I.E.L.D. becoming an informant before going back to the KGB. Who was at the time forming something called the Red Room. Melina was cycled through it to make sure she was fit to work for them. Then sent on an undercover mission where she was not able to have any contact with S.H.I.E.L.D. No one knows what happened during that time. The next time she was heard from was three years later giving no information of what she did during that time. 

(Anything in italics is Russian. I only know a little bit of Russian and didn't want to trust google and then it be horribly wrong then also have to add the translation so I just wrote it in English.

Melina had just hung up the phone when a guard approached behind her.

"Widow, why are you not in training?" He asked angrily

They always seemed to be angry. Not that they had a reason.

"Call me widow one more time and you're dead. I am way above that." She said turning to face the guard

"Oh I'm sorry Madame Vostocoff. We weren't made aware you would be here today." He says backing away

"Yes, I will be here for a while. The General has asked me to manufacture something for him." Melina says taking a step closer to him "Now if you will excuse me, I'll be on my way." She says walking toward Dreykov's office

Melina goes through tons of the different halls in the large underground building. She walk past the training room where the Widows are being trained. Finally she makes it to The Generals office. Going through all the security he has guarding him.

"Ah Melina, It's good to see you. Take a seat." Dreykov says with a voice voiding all emotion as she walks into the room

Melina takes a seat in front of him. Dreykov gets up from his desk and walks closer to her to where he is standing right behind her. He bends down to whisper in her ear.

"Where are the girls?" He asks

Melina stays completely silent. Trying to make sure her face and body language stays calm and doesn't give anything away.

"Fine, we'll have to do this the hard way." He says signaling for a large group of guards to enter the room

The guards grabbed her and dragged her out of Dreykov's office and into a cell.

Agent Vostokoff had been compromised.
