Chapter 16

The police arrived at the house soon after Levi told them to show up. Florian showed up with them and ran up to Levi.

"Levi! What happened?! What's going on?! Why didn't you call me?!"

Levi looked at him.

"Stop yelling. We were watching movies. I wanted some tea and then when I stood up and was walking to the kitchen, my window shattered. I didn't hear any sirens or tires so I got up and came outside. I went up to his window to see what was going on and he was dead."

Florian looked at Levi like he had grown two heads.

"You... You actually went.. Outside?" Florian asked him.

Levi nodded. Florian threw his hands up in the air.

"You're crazy." He told Levi.

Levi shrugged.

"Not the first time I've been told that."

Florian rolled his eyes.

"Now that's something I can see."

Later on that night, everyone was sitting in the police station waiting to get talked to. The police were back at Levi's house looking for clues. They decided to not keep Levi in the loop though. He was sitting next to Hanji and Erwin.

Hanji was excitedly talking to Mikasa and Erwin was "subtly" flirting with Armin. Levi felt a small vibrate coming from the phone that Papa had given him. He stood up and excused himself to the bathroom. He checked all the stalls to make sure that no one was around before he fished the crappy little phone out of his pocket.

One new message from: Papa

Levi, we have a small lead. We still don't know the gangs name yet but we do know where they sometimes meet. We have heard Eren's name get mentioned a couple times but we haven't heard anything on his whereabouts. I will let you know when we know more.

Levi sighed and stood in a stall. His fingers roamed around the primitive keyboard as he texted a message back.

Papa, my friends and I were attacked a bit ago. They shattered my front window and killed an officer. I don't know who it was but I do know that they don't want me going around and getting help. They're trying to scare me off by showing me how capable they are. Thank you for keeping me in the loop.

He hit send and exited the stall. He walked over to the sinks and splashed cold water on his face. He looked in the mirror and into his eyes. He had bags under his eyes and his face looked exhausted. Water dripped off his chin and he hung his head. There was a knock on the door and then Armin stepped in with Erwin following him.

"Levi? Is everything okay?" Armin asked him.
