Chapter one~Zuri

As I layed in my bed I heard little footsteps in the distance.I heard my door open."Zuri"I turned over in my bed.It was my little brother Zach."What is it Zach?"Zach was looking down at the ground."Umm...well...Zero he's-"He better not say what I think he's about to say."Zeros in jail again and he called dada's phone saying he wanted us to bail him out"I rolled my eyes."What is he in for this time?" Zach shrugged "I'm not sure"I got up off my bed and put my shoes on.I walked out of my room to go get dad to drive us to the station.

I walked in the living room to find my father drunk on the couch and asleep.I felt Zachs hand in mine."Well I guess we can take are bikes what do you say?"I said looking down at Zach.Zach nodded "yeah let's take are bikes but don't go to fast my bike don't go to fast with training wheels"I nodded."Okay go put your shoes on"Zach ran to go put his sneakers on.

I sighed at the sign of my father.He's been like this ever since he killed mother on accident he didn't mean to but he blames himself."Zuri can you tie my shoes please"I bent down to tie his shoes.I tied his shoes in double knots."Alright let's go".

Outside*

"make sure you put your helmet on Zach I don't want you getting hurt"Zach put on his helmet.I pulled are bikes out from the garage.I gave Zach his bike and got on mine."Alright you ready the go?"I turned around to make sure he was on his bike."Yup"I nodded as I started peddling down the driveway.As we were on the road I kept making sure Zach was behind me.

When we got to the station.I took me and Zachs bike and put them in the bike rack."Umm Zuri?"I looked up to see Zach staring at the missing wall."Weren't you friends with Lana Rycie?"He asked."That was a long time ago but why?"I stood up and walked over to him.I looked at the missing wall."Oh my god..."Zach was right Lana was missing and alot others I mean just last week they found Jessica Davis but they still haven't found her killer.Her body left this whole town on edge.I pulled my eye away from the wall.Slowly pushing Zach towards the door."Cmon let's just go get Zero"

We walked inside and up to the front desk.The lady at the desk looked me and Zach up and down."Lemme guess Zero Pierce?"I felt ashamed that she knew who we were here for but then again the Pierce family is well known for shady woods."Yeah...how you doing mrs.Eden?"I let out a small chuckle.She rolled her eyes."Ms.Tina"she said into the walkie."Yes mrs.Eden" she sighed."Zero pierce...His familys here to get him"She said.Zachs hand tightened around mine."On it."5 minutes later Zero came out of the back.Zach ran up and hugged Zero."Hey Zach how you doing buddy"Zeros fists were bloody I assumed he got in a fight.Zach ran back over to me as Zero walked behind him."Your riding on the pegs"I said as I walked out of the station.

"Oh Cmon little sis why can't you ride on the pegs and I'll ride the bike."Um because im not the one who got arrested again"Zero rolled his eyes."Oh Cmon the guy had it coming"He said but I wasn't buying it."Whatever now Cmon I got weekend homework I need to finish"I unchained me and Zachs bike and pulled them out.I got on my bike I turned around to make sure Zach was on his and Zero was on the pegs.

I started peddling making sure Zach was still behind us.As we got home zero jumped off the pegs causing me and my bike to fall over."Asshole"I muttered picking up my bike."You okay?"Zach asked."Never better"I put me and Zachs bike in the garage."You think zero won?"I turned around."Excuse me?"Zach stared at me for a blank moment."Do you think Zero won the fight?" I shrugged."It depends on who he fought for example if he fought Dylan Tyler he would but if he vs Vance gardener he would lose"I explained.Zach raised an eyebrow."Who's Vance?"he asked."You're only 6 you wouldn't know but He's another one of the famous last names like us Pierce?Notice how the lady at the station knew we were there for Zero?" Zach nodded."It's cause are name is famous in this small town".

"Oh okay"Zach walked away from the garage door.I followed him closing the garage door behind me."Hurry up Zuri" I laughed running after him.Zach got inside before me I followed him inside to see Zero in the kitchen drinking some of dads beer."Zero your underaged"I whispered.Zero flipped me off. I rolled my eyes.We all stopped when dad slowly started waking up.I watched as Zero threw the beer can out the window.My father sat up and looked around."Zero I thought your ass got arrested"Zero looked away."He was and we just had to go get him from the station"I realized it was a mistake when dad started taking off his belt."Zero Cmon here"Zero looked at my dad."Zach go to your room"I said.Dad stopped him."No Zach.Stay this is gonna be a life lesson for the both of you next time you misbehave"Zach backed up next to me."Zero.I.Said.Come.Here"Zero finally walked over to dad.

I watch dad punch Zero in the face but Zero never fought back against dad cause he knew what would happen if he did.Dad would come after me or Zach but I would snap his fūcking finger before I let him touch Zach.Mom made me promise to look after him and I'm keeping that promise.

I watched as dads belt hit Zero in the back.Zero letting a sharp grunt.Zach was covering his face he didn't want to watch this.5 minutes later he finally stopped Zero had cuts and bruises all over his back."I'm going out make sure he stays out of trouble"dad said as he walked pass me grabbing the keys.

Dad walked out the door."Zach go get the first aid kit "Zach stood there frozen looking at Zeros body."Now Zach!"I yelled.Zach ran off to go get the first aid kit from the bathroom.I bent down to Zero."Jesus that looks bad"I made Zero sit up as I removed his shirt."You think?"Zero said letting a soft chuckle.

Zach came back with the first aid kit.He handed it to me.As I placed it on the floor I pulled out the stuff we thought we need ofc I didn't know what exactly what we needed but I pulled out the stuff zero put on me when I got a beating like this.

"Okay this is probably gonna sting"I said as I poured hydrogenation peroxide on a rag.I placed the rag on his wounds as he gripped the carpet."Fuck!"He screamed.

"I know it hurts but I'm almost done"After I finished I made Zach go get zero a new shirt.Zero got up off the floor and sat down on the couch.I was still couched on the floor when Zach finally broke the silence.

"Zuri who's this?"
