The Hidden Truth | 3

[Shadow's Pov]

It has been a few days that we talked to each other. I made sure to hide from people as always. I don't want people to be on my trail. Even though i could easily chaos control away from them. And I don't want a suprise hug from anyone. Just like how that pink hedgehog did. She hugged me out of nowhere when I arrived in the village for the first time. At first I was angry, but i just got here so it's pretty normal to get mistaken for someone else, i don't mind it because she apologized soon after

"I'm sorry for hugging you! I thought you were Sonic. I guess i have to be more careful next time." I looked at her face that looked like she wanted to forget this moment and she quickly left. I was curious as to who Sonic is. One day, I saw Eggman arrived in the village with weak robots of his. And then I saw a blue blur at the distance. I watched him fight Eggman, until some of his friends joined the fight. I saw the pink hedgehog again. Soon in the matter of minutes, Eggman's robots were all destroyed with one of the giant robots he deployed. Soon after, Eggman left the village. Leaving the team claiming victory, and then the villagers said thank you to the team but mostly the blue one. "Thank you for saving us, Sonic!" one of the villagers said. 'Ah so that's Sonic, heh, one day we'll meet, Sonic the hedgehog.' Then I left by chaos control back to my cave.

[Back to Present Moment]

I went to the library to the history section. Then I read the book about the kingdom here. I only heard small bits since I thought this has nothing to do with that faker. But up until now, I didn't think he would go here. In the middle of reading the book, I saw a baby picture of the triplets. I was shocked to see a baby Azure hedgehog. The same eyes, the same quill colors. But the medallion on his neck stood out. I'm pretty sure I never saw that medallion before. At first I thought that hedgehog is not the prince. But the more i think i about it. The more I got confused. I'm just going to memorize what I can find out in the book. It said that when one of the triplets play a music, the one who strayed far might be able to hear it. But other people won't be able to hear it unless they are close by to where they are. 'Now that I think about it, faker never takes off his bandana. No matter the situation. Maybe that's the way to hide his true identity huh'. After a few minutes I went back to my cave. Not daring to look at the picture of Maria for once unless necessary.

I lived in a cave, it's the closest thing i could call home. Since no one can see me, people see me as a villain most of the time, but some also respects me. I do have some that I respect for some people too. Most of the time my time was distracted by eggman constantly sending me letters to join his team to defeat Sonic. But knowing I already met him now and i've grown some respect for him, i can't bring myself to attack him full power. I have to keep this a secret for now.

- A few weeks later- Shadow's Pov

I've been ignoring meeting with Sonic to prepare for this day. I watch from on top of a tree hidden while Eggman and his so-called-team fight Sonic and his friends. No one seemed to notice me. Then Sonic spindashed to Eggman's eggmobile. "Call off your goons while I smash you in the next week" Sonic "I'm busy next week. I mean I could reschedule, but I-" Eggman was cut off as i shoved sonic off Eggman's eggmobile. Sonic landed safely on the ground while i landed on a robot's shoulder. "Pathetic, even with all this help you still couldn't defeat Sonic" is what I said.

-Sonic's Pov-

'Shadow??? Why is he with eggman? I need to figure this out sooner or later' I quickly spindashed towards Shadow but he also spindased towards me. We both bounced back and landed on the ground. "It's happening.. Shadow has joined team Eggman!! I'm geeking out here!" what the egghead said.

-Shadow's Pov-

'Why am I doing this again. That buffoon is slowly getting on my nerves. But I am very calm, as i try not to be annoyed by his stupid recruitment letters' as I thought that, I hit his eggmobile with spindash to get him out of my way and fight Sonic. I didn't want to, but atleast I need to.

-Amy's Pov-

I was fighting the bears with Sticks, but then I saw a red streak. And I was shocked to see it was the hedgehog who I accidentally hugged. My eyes widened a bit, but I didn't loose my focus on defeating the enemies right now.

-3rd person's pov-

Shadow and Sonic fought for awhile and as Sonic was laying on a dented ground, until Eggman took a picture with flashlight on which blinded the ebony hedgehog for a few seconds. Sonic took this as a chance to get them to end this fight. Sonic hit a punch towards Shadow but made sure it's not too painful. Shadow fell as the other enemies also loosing the battle. "You fool! I had him just where I wanted him!" Shadow said angrily. 'Idk why that's kinda cute. Wait why did I think that-' Sonic thought staring at Shadow which he didn't realize. "Sorry, that one's on me Shadow. Forgot to turn off the flash. The pic looks great though. Congratulations" Eggman said with a proud face. "Enough! How's the guy supposed to destroy his foes with adults like you wandering around. We'll fight again soon Sonic, but next time on my terms" I left by chaos control. Sonic and his friends celebrated that they won.

But Sonic couldn't get something off of his head, so he decided to visit Shadow. Shadow told him where he lived that time. Since Sonic's team won, they played volleyball with eggman's Eggmobile while he's on it. After that they all went home with eggman mumbling irritated that the team threw him with his eggmobile like a volleyball. As for Sonic, he went for a run to find out why Shadow suddenly attacked him. He ran towards the forest to get to where Shadow's place is and found the cave after awhile.

-Shadow's Pov-

The fight wasn't too bad, but he'll ask me about it to find out the truth from me of me suddenly fighting him. I'm just keeping the cave clean as usual since it's the only place where is rest at. And waited for awhile for faker to appear at my cave. After I was done, as expected he really came. "hey shads, why'd you fight me and my friends that time." Sonic asked. "None of your business, hedgehog. I'll tell you later when i feel like it. My temper is already difficult to handle thanks to that buffon eggman" as i crossed my hands. "Now get lost" as i push him out of the cave. I was waiting fos Sonic to leave.

-Sonic's Pov-
'Man what- Usually he talks way nicer than this. Wonder what's up. Now that i think about it, he looked kind of angry. I'll just leave him alone for now.' then I went back to my shack. I arrived back at my shack and i decided to lay down on a hammock. 'I was thinking about the fight just now, shadow's temper, and shadow's cute reaction.. Not again-' I turned around to my side and atleast try to find something interesting to do right here. But knowing there's nothing here I can't do anything about it. And so I decided to sleep it off. I closed my eyes and turned around a few seconds late, and eventually i fell asleep having a nice dream about chili dogs. But Shadow somehow also appeared in it.

-Shadow's Pov-

I am so annoyed by Eggman, he's a terrible villain for that matter. And an annoying buffon that won't stop bugging me every week. I wish I could just end him for good. But he's still a close relative of mine so I can't argue anything. And so, I decided to sleep it off. I lay down on my make-do bed and sleep. It's not much of a place to live in but it still works. I haven't fell asleep yet and I won't be talking or meeting Sonic for now. But for that eggman, he better not bother me.

I know this chapters sucks, but hey I had no ideas left
My motivation for everything died down for some unknown reasons
But I managed to finish this chapter
I'm still not sure if I am gonna add other characters, but I'll try
