She’d die for love. He didn’t believe in love.

***

From reading The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood, to watching 10 Things I Hate About You, to listening to You are in Love by Taylor Swift, Emily’s life is a sum of moments she has spent after romance. Watching, reading, listening or daydreaming, romance has never failed to comfort this high school junior of 17 years of age. She has her own issues: self-sabotage, random mood swings, lack of focus in studying, randomly popping up acne and not loving the way she looked. But she could forget all that as long as she is reading about two people falling in love and finding their happily ever after.

Emily wants a romance for herself too, and she knows just the person for it: Landon McArther, a senior in her school. According to Emily, Landon is handsome, sophisticated, well-spoken, and unlike any of the immature boys in her class who didn't get her at all. Landon is everything Emily has always dreamed about and moreover, he appreciates her for the person she is. But there's just a teeny-tiny problem.

Landon McArther has a girlfriend.

While that wasn't on Emily's bingo card, she hopes, prays, and longs for the day Landon will be single because he is Emily’s soulmate, and he has to be, and she awaits her chance for romance. At the same time, her seatmate in chemistry, the rumored delinquent and grumpy assholiest asshole Nathan Callahan, makes fun of her romantic dreams.

Can Emily ever find true love?

When you've gone numb, what does it take to feel again?

****
After her mother's death, Thalia Jamieson is stuck in the fog of high-functioning depression. She goes through the motions of her life-doing what's expected but feeling nothing. Her dreams, her passions, even her sense of self have faded into a dull, gray existence. That is, until an English assignment pairs her with Caiden Walters, the boy she used to have a crush on.
Once the popular, well-liked football player, Caiden has withdrawn from everything he once cared about-his friends, his team, even his future. His slate-blue eyes, once full of life, now reflect only stormy bitterness, and he refuses to work with Thalia. But when a chance encounter at a graduation party leads them to reminisce, their walls begin to crumble, and they decide to feel something again-even if only physically.
But will that be the answer to everything? Or will it only remind them even though they can't feel anything their hearts are still capable of shattering into pieces?

Evelyn Reyes is the girl with chronic anxiety. Her stomach knots, insomnia, pounding headache, her disastrous thoughts and anxiety attacks had made her into a pathetic excuse of whom she was before. But is having anxiety the end of the world? Mason Stewart doesn't think so.

                             ****

Evelyn is the new girl of Gateway High where she wants to finish her senior year without making herself vulnerable, keeping her anxiety and craziness a secret and without falling in love. That is a must. When she has Mason Stewart as her locker mate, the guy who has insanely blue eyes and loves to scowl at her, she thinks it will not be that hard to cope here. But after having a panic attack right in his arms, tables turn for Evelyn. Mason Stewart's scowls turn into dimply smiles, his rough voice turns sweet, and his strong arms become a shelter, his insane blue eyes become an ocean where Evelyn wants to drown.

But when her anxiety disorder makes her believe everything comes with a price, Evelyn knows the price she has to pay.
