Chapter Ten
HashtagTo be honest, it wasn't that surprising. Just like what he described, she's talented; she gets along with everybody; she's great. It's already no wonder that Savior admires Maddie. She's far greater, indeed, and she's someone I'm not.
There was shock evident on Savior's face but before he could even answer, the bell started to ring, signaling that the next class was about to start. So, Savior and I both headed back to our classroom because the teacher will arrive soon.
Even during the lecture, my mind was flying elsewhere and I wasn't able to focus in the class. There was an unexplainable wrenching inside me, and I couldn't take how Savior steals a few glances at Maddie from time to time.
I was trying really hard to not look bothered because I'm afraid my best friends will notice it and make me spill the beans, which I wouldn't as this is Savior's business in any way and I just happened to figure it out. However, Kelszey seemed to have noticed the discomfort on my face, so she asked me when we were alone in the washroom during lunch break.
"Kleighn, okay ka lang? You were spacing out during our classes, no, I'd say for a few days now. Ano bang nangyayari sa'yo?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni Kelszey sa akin. I was a bit hesitant to tell her because she's really close to Savior but I do think she'll be able to understand me, plus, I heard she also knows Savior admires Maddie.
"Savior..." Just that word was able to make Kelszey's eyes widen. "What about Savior?" Agad niyang tanong. "Nalaman ko na ina-admire niya si Maddie. Savior told me a few days ago in Messenger that he admires someone, tapos kanina ko lang na-realize na si Maddie yung tinutukoy niya," paliwanag ko.
"Okay, that was too big of news than I expected." She breathed out. "First of all, hindi ko alam na gano'n na pala kayong ka-close ni Savior para mag-chat kayo sa Messenger at tungkol pa roon. Second, I don't mean to invalidate your feelings but why are you so troubled over Savior admiring someone?"
That was the same question Bridgette asked me and the truth is, I still don't know the answer to that. "Hindi ko alam kasi naguguluhan na talaga ako. God, I'm going crazy right now," I replied in frustration.
Kelszey was looking at me, sort of enlightened about something. "Bakit mukhang may na-realize ka or something?" May panghihinala sa aking boses. "I'm not telling you because you should be able to realize it on your own, but just a piece of advice, before you could even stop feeling that way, you have to answer why you feel that way in the first place," she answered.
Habang naglalakad kami pabalik sa aming classroom, nagsalita siya, "I'm sure everything will be fine." Yeah, I hope so.
Nang makaupo kami sa aming mga armchair, agad na nagtanong si Micole sa amin. "Anong balak niyong gawin sa vacant natin?" We have a one-hour vacant period before our first class in the afternoon so we're free to do anything.
"Matutulog siguro ako," sagot ni Daxenne na kaagad sinang-ayunan ni Bridgette. "I'm going to the lounge to do some studying," I answered because I feel like I'd been missing out too much. "Kelszey and I are probably gonna read some novels," Taylynne said.
Micole was already chattering with our other classmates and Shanaia and Elle, well, they're probably in another classroom with a vacant period right now to chat with some of their other close friends.
Bitbit ang aking notebook, nagpaalam ako sa aking mga kaibigan at nagtungo sa student lounge na hindi kalayuan sa aming classroom. When I arrived, there were a few students who I'm guessing are also on their vacant period. I sat on the nearest couch and started annotating my notes, which I took mindlessly during the lecture.
