You mentally curse yourself, forcibly looking back down at the table. You were supposed to be categorizing the bones of an arson victim, but all you could do was stare at her: Dr Temperance Brennan.

Once again, you involuntary began to stare at her. You watched as she debated the cranial integrity of some poor soul's skull with Hodgins.

Your eyes trailed from the gorgeous features of her face down to her torso, and all the way down her body, then back up again.

You must've been staring for a solid two minutes when you were snapped out of your reverie.

"Hey, Y/N! Watcha doing over there?" Came Angela's sarcastic voice, quick and clean.

You panicked for a split second, heat rising up your neck. You instantly turned to face her, desperately trying to remain calm.

"Angela!" You responded, attempting to sound normal. "Hey! Um... nothing too important just uh, sorting through these bones. Tryna see which ones are too charred to use."

"Uh huh." She retorted, unconvinced. "And were you studying those bones by checking Temperance out?

Your face turned red, and you were seized by panic.

"Angela, please, you can't tell anyone. I-" You tried to explain, but were cut off.

"Relax, honey. I'm not gonna tell anybody." She assured. "But you should probably be a little more cautious if you don't want people finding out." She added with a smirk.

"Thanks." You said shyly, rubbing the back of your neck.

"No problem." She responded. "So..." She continued, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "How long have you been daydreaming about Dr Brennan?"

You blushed again at her choice of words.

"Honestly... ever since I started working here." You replied sheepishly.

"Damn. That's a long time, girl."

You nodded. It really had been a long time; almost three months, and you still couldn't muster the guts to tell Brennan how you felt.

"Well, what are you gonna do about it?" Angela queried.

"Excuse me?" You replied, confused.

"Are you gonna make a move?" She clarified. "You know, ask her out to dinner, or compliment her looks, or just straight up tell her that you want to have sex with her?"

The embarrassment returned to your face once more. As much as you wanted to deny it, Angela was right; you did want to have sex with her, and you'd thought about it too.

"I- I don't know." You muttered. "What's the point? It's not like she feels the same way."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Angela responded sincerely. "When Temperance cares about someone, she does a really good job at hiding it."

You didn't say anything in response. You didn't know what was left to say. Angela knew Brennan better than anyone else at the Jefferson, but you weren't sure enough to take such a big gamble.

Angela read your body language and understood what your were thinking. She gave you a pat on the shoulder, and a quick smile before walking back to her station.

That woman had left you with a lot to think about.
