We're running in circles

I ran down the street, neglecting to meet her at the designated place. I had to end this.

The wind against my skin felt cool, i fortunately went some place close to my apartment. Barely 3 blocks away. Each time the high seemed to be getting shorter, the come down got longer. Hopefully this time would be long enough. I ran up the stairs, forcing the key into the door, damn near breaking it as I ripped it out. I made sure to lock the door behind me.

Now I would just wait.

I debated tying myself to a bed post or something but that seemed over the top, but what if I just unlocked the door when I changed. I pulled the handcuffs out of the top drawer.

Don't ask.

I cuffed myself to the small part of the post not bothering to see where the key was

I made sure it was tight  already it pushed into my skin in a uncomfortable way, but I knew I wouldn't feel it in a few minutes anyway.
This should  work though if I'm not around anyone, I won't feel the power.

Maybe I'll starve to death, but at least I won't feel it.
In a weird way that brought me some comfort.

Maybe there is some benefit to this power

Static.

When he didn't return before I heard the sirens I knew something was wrong.  I walked towards the bar stopping behind the yellow tape, with a few other passerbyers.
Looking in the back of the police cars. "Nothing."
"Did they catch the criminal yet?" Someone asked.
"No,"
"Do you really think a person did this."
"I bet it's something in the water,"
"Something in the air."
"It's aliens."

Good so they didn't have him, so where was he?
The only other place he knew was home.
