"You can't leave."
A shot rang out.
It was weird.
It's almost like the sound rippled through me, I felt the blood seeping through my shirt but I didn't feel the pain, was I numb again?
The bullet had went straight through my chest, my heart was failing, my lung collapsing.
I sank to the floor, body unable to sustain itself. But no searing pain, no gut wrenching screamsShe ran to me wrapped her arms around me
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she advised cradling my head in her lap; tears leaking from her eyes onto my cheek and neck. They were cool to the touch.
"I love you, I love you so I'll help you like you wanted me to."Was this a fucking movie.
"Fu—ck youuu," it came out as a wheeze as blood spilled from my lips, some of it freckling her face but she had heard me.
"What," she gasped a tear slipping from her large delusional eyes.
I took a deep breath and the lights around me swirled, I pulled at the emotions she was feeling, and she dry heaved above me. I took more. And she grasped her throat trying to push away from me. It was painful, which was new all the others never felt any pain when they died they only felt euphoria. Maybe it's because I was in pain.
She crawled backwards "no pls,"
I could feel her broken core in my hands my nails like talons as they wrapped around it. "Stopppppp." She screeched the sound was unnerving even to my ears.
I sliced into her core with ease. She stopped moving frozen on the floor back arched violently as she gasped for air.My lungs expanded my chest recoiled. The bullet was gone. My heart started pumping a normal rhythm again.
And her own became irregular, her lung collapsing in on itself, blood spilling from her mouth.
sliding the talons out one by one as she convulsed, making noises I'd only heard in that place, in those cells.
I crushed her core into nothing.
Large cinnamon eyes became still, open, glassy. My stomach rumbled
And a hunger I haven't felt in some time took over. I needed food. I walked to the counter stepping over the sleeping bodies of the police officers."What's in there?"I asked pointing to the meal the staff was clutching onto for dear life
"uhhhh..uhm," I ripped it out of her hands.
She let out a little squeal, she was taking to long.I unwrapped the thing right there at the counter taking a large bite. It was heavenly the rich flavors of the beef made my tastebuds dance. "Oooh," I took another mouthwatering bite, "ooh" Yeah that's hitting the spot.
"You got that special sauce." I asked in the same breath I took to take another bite.
The staff member closest to her spoke "how many would you like?"
I held up 2 fingers, and she tossed it to me "I ripped them open."Anything else."
"Fries, please,"
"An extra large," she questioned
I nodded "ooh and a shake."
She nodded swiftly handing me the items
The fries were perfectly salted, and the creamy spicy sauce complimented them so well.I'm in heaven.
I destroyed the meal quickly, that literally hit the spot I swear that hunger came out of nowhere.
I fished a twenty out my pocket placing it on the counter and grabbing my shake.
"Are you gonna take the bodies?" The worker asked.
"Ohh they aren't dead they are just sleeping."
I followed the staffs gaze to the woman on the floor."I'm sure they'll uhh take care of it." I advised flashing a flirty smile and moving towards the exit.
"Have a big boy day, come again."
"Patricia really,"
"What? He doesn't seem that bad. Was it just me or was he kinda cute."
The woman gave her an incredulous look that broke off into a slight smile "girl he was so Fine."
I could hear their whispers turn into laughter, and it brought a genuine smile to my face. As I walked into the brisk night air. I couldn't help but think. Maybe I was gonna be okay.
Static.
