A beautiful meadow full of flowers of all kinds appeared in front of them, there was another forest surrounding it on all sides. The land was mostly flat with the occasional hill forming in the distance. A pond's crystal clear water could be seen shimmering in the sunlight not too far from where they were standing. Straight through the middle of it all was a dirt road winding through it.

Shixe tried stepping onto the road but was pulled back by the small creatures.

"No!" One screamed. They were extremely strong for their size. "You need to hear the rules of our safe haven first!" The second exclaimed.

Martha and Shixe exchanged glances then nodded at the small creatures.

The first creature stood on a lily, "There are four rules to know." They held up four fingers.

"First, whatever you do, do not pick the flowers; no matter how pretty they are. If you do you will never be allowed to leave. Second, most creatures here have been injured and do not trust humans, so approach with caution. Third, if you see a shadow beckoning you to come closer from the forest's edge, ignore it. If you follow the shadow you will never be heard from again," They counted the rules on their fingers one by one. When they said the third rule they gave a nervous glance towards the forest.

The second creature took hold of the first's hand, "And the last and final rule, please don't tread on the flowers too much; we have a path for a reason you know."

The two creatures took flight again, "Now, let us show you around."

They followed at a slow pace as the creatures pointed out things that made the safe haven so special. They pointed out small burrows in the ground that were hidden in the tall grass. In a tree were a family of phoenixes that seemed unsure of whether or not to flee or to attack. A few mushrooms danced across the dirt path all the while singing a tune gleefully.

The mushrooms were rather friendly and would dance around Shixe's feet so he had to be careful where he stepped.

Soon, a clearing came into view and a small village could be seen. Of course Shixe and Martha were far too big to enter any of the tiny houses, but the two creatures entered a house and came back with a berry almost twice their size.

They dropped it at Martha's feet, "A welcome gift, on behalf of the pixies we welcome you to our safe haven."

"Thank ye..." Martha trailed off. "Oh goodness, where are my manners? My name is Adlai and this is my partner Echo," The first creature said.

"Right, thank ye fer lettin' us into yer, uh, 'safe haven' Adlai and Echo," Martha said.

The pixie couple grinned from ear to ear, tiny sharp teeth revealed, as Martha pocketed the berry, "Well come on now! There's much more to see!"

Adlai landed on a lily pad in a pond near the meadow, "And here's the main plaza! Many creatures come here to converse and enjoy themselves." They gestured toward a ring of flowers around a large, barren patch of dirt.

Echo stood by their partner's side, "Welp, that's all there is to show you two. Come now, Adlai we need to check on Baba." The look of realization spread across Adlai's face.

"Oh no we left him in charge of the kitchen!" The two zoomed off.

"Well what now?" Shixe asked Martha. "They said that the spiders were here, so let's get looking."

And so the search began.

Sooooooo- ._.

I think the reason I stopped updating for a while was because I kept pushing myself to make SUPERR long chapters, so I ended up getting burnt out much faster-

So the solution? MAKING SHORTER CHAPTERS- '<'

Alright um sorry for disappearing? Oh well I'm back now that's what matters-
