It's almost lunchtime. I'm not hungry! I just want to go shower. I walk down the hallway to the bathrooms. I take a long hot shower. "I hear the new girl wasn't here last night", I hear a voice. "Dr. Blunt probably pulled the 'date'", says the voice. I step out of the shower to see who it is. Holy hell! It's Kayla! I wrap the towel around me and go up to Kayla and tap her on her shoulder. "Hey, new girl", she says. "Need anything", she asks, I nod. I gesture for her to follow me to my room. "Don't you maybe want to get dressed first", she asks. I look down and nod. I quickly get dressed and we walk to my room. I drop my dirty clothes into the laundry basket. I walk to my desk and take out a notebook and a pencil. "What did you mean by 'date'? She looks at the notebook. "Oh, that, Dr. Blunt does that with some patients. After her wife died she started doing it. She takes them to McDonalds, then to her house where she has sex with them. The next morning she makes them pancakes and brings them back to the asylum", she says. She used me? She used me. Kayla looks at me with sympathy. "Me and my friends have a plan to get out of here. Have you noticed that patients just disappear? Have you heard the people screaming in black D? Don't take your pills they turned my friend Mia into a zombie. You can help us escape! If you can use Dr. Blunt to get research on the pills their giving us we could use that to get out", she says. I nod in agreement. We shake hands and she leaves.
