The New Case

It was just a normal day at Chicago Police Department up in intelligence until all the detectives were at their desks doing paperwork when Sgt Voight came out of his office. "We got a case" Voight announces the rest of the unit. They turned their attention to the board. "What do we know so far" Olinsky asks, all attention now is on Voight. "Drug peddler Aaron Baker and his colleague Tyrone Quill" Voight explains to the rest of the intelligence unit. "Ruzek, you find what information you can about Aaron Baker and Halstead you find what you can on Tyrone Quill" Voight says. A few minutes later "Aaron Baker 32, one offspring we have no information on the kid other than Baker's words, he has been arrested by Chicago police department 4 times only to be charged once" Ruzek explains. As Burgess goes over to his picture and writes information by it. Halstead starts to read the information on the colleague "Tyrone Quill 34 no offspring has been arrested by Chicago police departments 7 times before but only been charged with 4 crimes" now Burgess goes over to the second picture on the board and writes the information by it.

"I want an address for both men" Voight says then walks back to his office. A few hours later after a lot of hard searching from the rest of the intelligence unit Atwater says, "I got an address on Tyrone Quill" and with that news, Voight sends detective Olinsky and Dawson to Tyrone Quills address with a search warrant to search his house so if Quill asked for one they were prepared. While at a different location in Chicago Jordan Baker, Aarons daughter was being beaten and emotionally tortured by Aaron and a few buddy's of his. She didn't recognize them but she had only meet Tyrone and he always protected her when he was around but with being in trouble previously and being in business with her father, he was afraid to talk. A few minutes after the detectives came back with no new information from Quill's apartment Burgess announces she found an address for Aaron Baker so Voight sent detectives Lindsay and Halstead to go check it out he also sent them with a warrant to search hoping they find some new info. When they got there only Aaron could be seen. They looked around and found info about a meeting so they didn't go upstairs so they didn't see Jordan having a breakdown.

As Lindsay and Halstead were driving back to the district both felt sick like they may have missed something big but they both shrugged it off thinking it was nothing and when they arrived they informed the unit and got back to work. After a few hours of setting up the plan, Voight dismissed the unit and all the detectives went home. The next day after all the intelligence unit gets there they start getting prepared to bust Baker and Quill. Then they left and surrounded the meeting discreetly so that they could catch the men in the act. When the detectives came out to bust them Aaron made a run and got away while Tyrone let himself get caught by the detectives. When they arrested him they brought him back to the district and put him in an interrogation room Voight and Halstead walked in with a file and sat down while Olinsky and Dawson stood behind the mirrored glass. "Why do business with Aaron Baker" Voight asks Quill. "I do it for the kid that suffers if I don't" Tyrone Quill says.

"You don't have a kid though" says Halstead. "I don't but that jerk does and the beats 'em and torments 'em emotionally, if I'm not there to stop him" says Quill. "Why not say something before" Voight asks. "I didn't think anyone would believe me seeing as I work with him and I have a record but I now see how wrong that was because she still gets tortured by him and I am trying to help" says Quill. "How do we know you aren't lying to us" Halstead asks. "If you don't bust him and find that kid tomorrow it may be too late and that will haunt you" Quill says. "We'll check into it tomorrow first thing in the morning" Voight says then Voight and Halstead leave the room and meet up with Olinsky and Dawson and talk. "You think he's telling the truth" Olinsky asks. "He could have also chosen to run away from cops but he didn't, I think he truly does wanna stop his colleague from hurting that kid" says Voight.

"So tomorrow morning when we all come back to work we are gonna bust him when he doesn't expect it and save that kid, everyone is dismissed" says Voight. So everyone went home for the night and on the way back home Halstead got the same feeling he did leaving the Baker's house that something big in this case that they hadn't found yet and he wondered if it was the kid. He tried to clear his mind before going to bed because he knew otherwise he was gonna get no sleep but he hoped the kid could last until they executed their plan tomorrow.
