Chapter 1: New Vampire in the apartment

{Reader’s Point of view}

   “Ughh, my back hurts like hell…” I groaned. I sat up from my bed, and grabbed my phone. I turned it on. “Damn, its past midnight. I wonder if Ronaldo is back yet.” I got up and headed to my bedroom door and opened it. “Hey Ronaldo are you back ye-” I stopped when I noticed a cute orange armadillo sitting in a box next to the coffee table. Well he's new.

Then I noticed an eye statue thing. Then a purple coffin. Then I see Ronaldo, my vampire hunter roommate, holding a spray bottle, at a pile of……sand on the floor…. Am I still dreaming? Ronaldo noticed me coming out and completely froze. “I- uh- I can explain-” I just kept staring at the pile of sand, and watched with a blank face as it grew tall, thin, and turned into a vampire. A goddamn vampire.

A goddamn vampire is inside a vampire hunter's and a lazy college student’s apartment. When the vampire fully revived himself, somehow, he turned and noticed my presence. His eyes lit up and grinned toward Ronaldo. “Hello, I am the invincible-” he didn't even get halfway through his sentence before Ronaldo karate chopped the vampire's head. He squealed ‘sand’ and then.. He turned into sand….. Ronaldo pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, and he grumbled to himself. “This is Draluc. He's a pest and thinks he's gonna live with us. I- kinda made his…mansion explode..-”

I blinked. “This is the most weird ass dream I've ever had.” He groaned. “I wish this was, but unfortunately, it isn't.” The little armadillo crawled its way toward me and looked up. I picked it up and looked at it. “That is my compadriate, John the armadillo,” The vampire- I mean, Draluc, addressed. “Well, Johns a cute little guy, I’ll admit. But a vampire living in a vampire hunter's home? That doesn't sound very-” before I could finish, the front door was slammed open, and either to shock or hell the vibration of how bad the door was slammed into the wall, Draluc turned to sand again. Even Ronaldo screamed in surprise. It was the manager from Kalbi Bowl, my last boss.

I quit because his son was nuts. I didn't tell him that, I told him that online college was piling up and I had more classes I needed to attend at home. Which wasn’t a lie, but gave me a valid excuse to leave the place. “Ronaldo! I need your help!” “You're the manager from Kalbi Bowl, right? What's going on?” He looked really distressed. “I'm so embarrassed, but it's my idiot son,” Me and Ronaldo could see Draluc reviving behind him and I started to panic a bit. Ronaldo stepped up to the door, “excuse me for a sec, I need to do something…” He slammed the door, AGAIN, right onto Draluc and he bursted into sand again. This time the manager noticed him being there, and stared at Ronaldo in complete shock. “What was that?! I thought I caught a glimpse of a person back there…” Ronaldo tried to make up an excuse but I rushed before he did. “He thought he saw a spider behind the door” The manager seemed to believe it, and Ronaldo sighed in relief. Until the damn vampire decided to speak. "You bastard.. You slammed the door on me not once, but twice… How dare you! I'm supposed to be your new roommate damnit!"

“Ahh! Vampire!” “No! No! I uh- I can explain!- It's a funny story.. Heh- after i defeated him he rehabilitated, and wanted to work for me, so i said yes.” I mentally facepalm from that story. He really sucks at making stories on the spot. “Why would I want to be YOUR part timer?!” Draluc yelled, offended. Ronaldo turned back toward him and told him to shut up. “I-It doesn’t matter! The three of you! Come with me!” The manager pushed Ronaldo and Draluc out the door. I quickly put on some slip on shoes, and a jacket before setting John on the couch, and running after them. I think I heard him make a sound as a goodbye after I closed the door.

When we all got there, from outside you can hear this guy yell, “Get away from me!” We all stood at the front doors, across from this crazy kid. He had bloodshot eyes, and fangs and you could tell he got bitten by a smaller vampire. He had an arm wrapped around a female worker, and it was clear she wanted to get out of this place. I don't blame her, this kid might be the manager's son but he's nuts.”I'm going to turn into a vampire! And I don't want to get better!” He yelled trying to sound threatening. “Just calm down Bubuo-” “Don't come near me! I’ll bite her, I will do it!” He pulled the girl in closer as she still struggled against his arm.”I came all the way out here for a suto vampire?” Ronaldo mumbled. Even Draluc doesn't look comfortable because of this guy.
