Chapter XII: Mission ruin date failed

      You were walking through the street after finishing a hangout with a friend when you happened to spot Draluc and Jon amidst some brush with a very pissed looking Handa. Literally breaking a pair of binoculars.

"What are you idiots doing?" you walked up to them, slipping your hands in your back pockets.

"Ronaldo is going on a date with Handa's mother, apparently." "Whut?" you blunk, unsure if you heard him right. You remembered yesterday when Mr.Fukuma had stopped by the apartment while Draluc was playing his games and mentioned something about a half-day date with Ronaldo to support his series, "You mean the thing for his books?"

Handa got up from the brush and started to chase after Ronaldo and a woman in the distance. "I'm surprised he's just sneaking around." Draluc stood up from the brush himself and you both followed after him.

"Oh I'm sure he's planning on screwing this up for both of them. In his head, if it makes Ronaldo look bad and makes his mom like him less he's gonna do it."

Handa stood behind a bus stop sign, as if it's the best hiding spot. "C'mon, what do you think I am?"

"A landmine with legs." Draluc said.

"A dumbass." you said blunt.

Handa hit Draluc and made him turn to sand as he felt his hands twitch in resistance. "If I beat up Ronaldo right now, I'll make my mom sad."

"Momma's boy." you mumbled. You don't mean it in a bad way, even in highschool you found it sweet when he wanted to make his mom happy. She was a sweet lady and treated you nice.

"She's been looking fo- fo-.." Handa pulled the bus sign up from the ground and slammed it on Draluc. "She's been looking forward to this! And yet.. If I can expose him while he's with her, she'll be disillusioned and come to her senses! That's right, this is my big chance!"

"You know, I always thought you had a secret crush on Ronaldo in highschool when we were together, honestly."

"What the hell makes you think that?! I was dating you!" he defenced.

"If you told me then you dated me to get closer to him to destroy him instead of lying that you kissed another girl back then, maybe I wouldn't hate you." you pointed out. His mouth gaped open to retaliate but he couldn't, and you walked around him. "Let's go, idiots."

Later while walking to a bridge over them, the boys crouched down looking through the bridge's rails and you leaned on it, watching Ronaldo and Handa's mom walk by under. You could hear part of the conversation, him asking if she was okay with human food or if she wanted to get something else.

"So, how exactly are you planning on exposing him?" Draluc asked. Handa chuckled. "These kinds of dates are all the same, they usually involve a mean and a walk." Handa explained as you three gradually made it down the stairs, the boys still hiding from view. "My guess is, they'll probably go into the restaurant up ahead."

And what do you know, they did.

"See? Called it."

You raised a brow at Handa. "How many of Ronaldo's dates have you watched to predict this?"

"Irrelevant."

"Now what are you planning to do?"

Handa held out a random plate that honestly looked delicious and made your stomach rumble, even though you had some food two hours ago. "I'm going to switch out his food with this special hamburg steak!"
