T.W: Violence.

Louise's Pov
I dragged Dré out of the kitchen and out of the house. I had enough awkward tension for one day, any more and I might disappear.

We entered Dré's famous white car and he began to drive to the supermarket.

"You're wearing the sweater your mom knit. It looks good on you." I chirped.

"Thanks. It's my current favorite piece of clothing I own. It's so comfortable I wish I could wear it everywhere." He leaned toward me saying and I gave him a bright smile.

The way he cherished his mom and the way she cherished him was so adorable.

"So. I see you and Charlie are back on good terms." I voiced out after I had composed myself.

"Yeah. We talked it out a little but he still concealed some details from me. He keeps shouldering things and saying he wants to protect me. If he's doing all the protecting, who'll protect him?" Dré explained.

"Right? He said the same thing to me. Talking about ignoring me for my sake in order to protect me." I folded my arms.

The corner of Dré's lips twitched and he had a smirk on his face. "It didn't seem like he was ignoring you back there."

My face got hot and I looked away from him. "It's..it's not what you think. We just happened to need stuff from the fridge at the same time."

He chortled and smiled quickly looking my way. "Charlie's scoring more cookie points with you than I. Do I even have a chance?" He said and laughed dryly.

I looked at him for a second before facing the window. And so we drove, in a very uncomfortable silence.

We soon arrived at the store and I picked up a trolley. Scanning the list on my phone, I moved toward the meat section.

"Doesn't this give you a major sense of de ja vu?" Dré suddenly asked.

"You're right. I've been having way too many cases of de ja vu lately." I facepalmed.

"I remember how confused you were when selecting the meat Charlie requested." He chuckled.

"Argh. Don't remind me. The first month of me working for him is something I don't want to relive. Too much happened." I said reaching for the meat in the freezer and dropping it in the trolley.

"But it got better. You got a promotion, kind of, and you seem to enjoy working for him now." He said.

"Yeah. I wouldn't change the decision I made, coming to the mansion. I never would've met you or Charlie if I didn't.

"I'm glad you decided to come. I don't think my and Charlie's friendship would've ever been fixed without a third party, the third-party being you, in this case. Thank you, Scarlet."

We stared at each other for a couple of seconds before I broke eye contact and smiled. After getting all the food-based groceries, we moved toward the toiletries.

"My body soap has run out, the scent is divine. You have to smell it." I flipped open the cap of the soap and pointed the bottle to him. He sniffed it and nodded his head.

"No wonder you smell so good. It's a nice fragrance."

"Thank you." I closed the cap and dropped it on the trolley.

I got on my tippy toes, reaching to get the bleach for cleaning but I couldn't reach it. Dré leaned forward and grabbed the container giving it to me. I smiled in way of appreciation.

We finished buying all of the things on my list and so I paid for the items. Dré pushed the trolley which held the plastic bags filled with groceries, in the direction of the car.
