chapter 1

EMILY POV 

"Yeah mom, I'll be home this Christmas " I don't even if its true , but it 'll keep my mom sane till the holidays .I wrapped our conversation as I glanced at my watch, its 10 AM already. If I don't leave place in next 7 min I am gonna miss my ride to work .....aahh what a time to be alive . I lightly combed my fingers through my hair ,coated my lashes with little mascara and I was done , I usually don't have to do much , mama gave some great genes .

The run to bus stop was another marathon ,adding to my ginormous list of 'Why I hate mornings". After settling in my seat , i got much needed break after my morning hustle , its was particularly part of the day I rather enjoyed as I plugged in earphones and played Elvis Presley album .

From childhood I grew up listening to Elvis songs, I mean that man was legend .Some of his songs were on top charts some months ago too.....

After 30 mins I arrived at my workplace - THE INTERNATIONAL HOTEL , the only thing near to luxury in my life was working here .Plus they pay pretty good to mend rent for my matchbox sized apartment .

"Hey Em " Terry smiled at me as I walked through the huge foyers of the building .He was a middled aged man with eyes as blue as mine ,he was only one offered me job despite being unexperienced at such lavish establishment . He was like my papa at work .

"Hey old man . How you holding up ?" I said as I beamed at him .

'" I am fine girl, but I suppose something is holding you up ,coz you're 5th time late this week "

I was slight taken by Terry's comment but saw the source of it- Mrs Linda . This women is walking Hitler shouts at anyone and everywhere one working , she really need to get the stick out of her arse or whatever.

"HUSHH...Now Em get back to work before Linda catches you again , I wont be always here to save you. " Terry spoke as Linda left the foyer .

"LOVE YOU TERRY " I gave him last smile and get right to the restaurant at 3rd floor . 

I was up on my feet whole day table to table taking order, cleaning , taking food out , etc . As the clock strikes 5 pm ,I take a sigh of relief " Finally your shift is over Emi. now you rushing to the campus? " Jamie asked . " Hehe yeah right " I replied shyly .Jamie  was my coworker and my first crush in here but being 8 yrs younger than him, I dropped the idea of us in any relation other than professional . 

"Hey Emy , are you coming friday evening ?" Jamie asked " why would I ?"I replied 

" There is a private screening of a movie and  I've heard its gonna be major one for the Hotel ,like all the moviestars coming in sooo you know " Jamie said being giddy.

" I don't know Jamie ,Terry haven't said anything about this yet and you know how I am barely  clutching on to academia "I huffed. " Just think about it ,okay?" Jamie said and goes back to what he was doing .

I was rushing outside the hotel, as I was already late for my first class . " Wait , Em" Terry called ,"Yes Terry " I replied hurriedly , he better not take more than 5 mins . " We're having a movie screening party in basement this friday and we'll be needing our full force . I'll be paying you 100 $ for overtime plus you might get hefty tips from our guest .What do you think ?"

" I'll let you know Ter" .and waved him quick bye .

 On my way to the campus I gave a thought about what Terry said It wont be so bad- free booze , free food and with 100$ I can get on a much needed shoping spree .

"Hey Emily" "Hey Jen " 

'You seem lost?" Jen asked shaking me ."I am just thinking " I replied 

"About ?" Jen wiggled her brows 

"Ahhh just a gig at International, there is an event for which they need full force of employs but its on friday evening " I huffed .

"Whats the problem then ? "

"Problem is Mrs. wellingtons lecture ,she 'll bite my grades if I wont attend that "

"Oohh poor Em , don't you know she"ll be having her baby, this month any day now, that means for remaining sem there will be an substitute " jess replied .

"Really " My eyes beemed with joy.

I quickly dialed Terry's no. and informed him I'll be coming friday night .

Finally I can hope for a good weekend !
