The beaded bracelet and a big stack of books.

The ready of the weekend was slightly odd. I had just gotten out of the shower when I saw my Mom's beaded bracelet and the Demon's Kiss rose, from the night before, on my bed. I stared at them in confusion, then quickly got dressed and rushed to the kitchen where Lucas was making pancakes and Michael was reading the newspaper.

"Did one of you put these on my bed this morning?" I held the two items up for them to see.

"Nope not me," Lucas cracked some eggs into the frying pan.

"Me neither," Michael responded. "Wait a second, isn't that the bracelet Mom gave you?"

"Ehh... yes it is. So neither of you put them there?"

"Yeah, why?" Lucas turned around and lifted one of his eyebrows at me.

"No reason at all, thanks," I rushed out of the room before any more awkward questions from my brothers were asked.

"Woman. Some  of the most mysterious creatures on earth," Michael shook his head.

"I completely agree," Lucas nodded staring at the doorway where I disappeared from

I couldn't stop thinking about the red eyes staring at me, the items that magically appeared on my bed, could they be connected somehow?

The next day, I was dropped off to school by Lucas. After I had waved goodbye (without feeling embarrassed), I walked slowly into the building. As soon as I entered the building, I was shocked at how loud the gossiping girls were. I was so confused at what they were chattering about until I literally walked into it.

Wait. Not it, him.

I had just walked into one of the most handsome boys I had ever seen. He had light brown hair, perfectly tanned skin (although I had no idea where he got it, it rains too much in Ireland) and piercing teal eyes. Those eyes were very haunting. He smiled at all the girls and turned to face me, glaring.

"Uhh-I'm-err-so- sorr-,"

He just pushed past me and continued his way over to his mates, who looked like rugby lads to me. Every one of the girls ignored me and started gushing over how attractive the boy was. Was no one actually going to acknowledge what just happened I frowned, what a weird school. I opened my locker and put all my books and bag in. I checked the time, then started quickly hurrying to Maths. Suddenly I collided into a boy with a huge stack of books. How ironic.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry, here let me help you," I rushed to help the boy pick up his books.

"Nah it's okay. It happens all the time," he replied.

"God, that makes me feel worse. It was my second time walking into someone and I haven't been here for fifteen minutes yet."

He laughed "Elijah Woods, nice to meet you."

"You too. My name is Anastasia Farrell, Anna for short."

"Where are you heading to??

"Ehh....Maths with Mr Collins?"

"Same! Do you want to walk together?"

"Sure, that would be great."

As we walked to Maths, we realised that we had loads of things in common like, books over movies (always), we both HATED cheese, our love for libraries and jokes. By the time we'd reached the classroom, I was laughing at a really funny joke Elijah had made and it was as if we had known each other since we were kids, not just since ten minutes ago.

We found two seats together and started yapping away about Harry Potter fan fiction until the teacher was ready.

"Hello class, welcome back from midterm break. You know the drill, I'm going to hand out a pop quiz and you'll have forty five minutes to finish," Mr Collins grumbled as he handed out the quizzes. "These will count as half of you let end of year grades, so pleased, put in some effort."

Everyone groaned except for myself and Elijah. We finished it easily in just under thirty minutes. Elijah opened a book about the history of Sligo while I stared out of the window, daydreaming. At my school in Dublin, I wasn't very popular so I was very invisible to boys which many girls made fun of. I didn't like going to parties either.

So this was a fresh start for me away from those girls. Maybe this year someone will finally notice me.

The bell rang which startled me out of my thoughts. I handed up my quiz answers and marched out of the room. Elijah had to go to Spanish while I had French so we decided to meet up in the school library at lunch.
