There was a calming, loving, knowing silence surrounding the two boys.
They both knew, and they both were well aware. But they didnt make any moves. They stayed in their position for a while, just soaking in the warm, welcoming aura from the other.
Karl felt soothed. He felt calm. He felt that accomplished, excited feeling that you get when you finish a really sad chapter of a book and get to move on to a better one.
He felt complete."Hey Karl?" Alex spoke at last, breaking the longing silence between them. Karl hummed, ready for any given statement the smaller bad to offer. "Can I tell you something?" He asked. Karl opened his eyes a bit, staring back into Alex's own eyes. His eyes held so much emotion, passion, admiration, longing. But there's always a darkside to something isn't there? Alex's eyes held fear, and worry.
Karl smiled and squeezed Alex's hips a little more. "Of course you can," he replied in a low voice, just above a whisper. He took pride in the blush on his friends face. "I-" Alex got ready to say, but there was a knock on the door and he jolted up right, falling back on the bed.
Karl sat up as well, feeling a bit awkward and like a fool. Why wouldn't something ruin the perfect moment? (Sorry Karl but I need this chapter to be a bit longer than it is-)
Opening the door was Aisha, Alex's little sister from earlier. She was changed now; wearing a long sleeved orange shirt and pajama shorts. She let herself in, completely oblivious to the moment she had ruined.Aisha walked over to the bed and hopped on. Alex sighed and picked her up, putting her in his lap. "Hey Aisha, what's the matter?" Asked Alex. Aisha looked up at him while she played with his fingers. "I'm not tired.." she muttered, seeming sad. "I want to sleep but I cant.."
Alex smiled at her and set her on the bed. "You stay here cariño," he demanded, standing up and walking out. Karl tilted his head. Aisha stared at him with her big doe eyes, bright blue and fresh with curiosity. "So.." she stated, "you and Lexi are not dating?" She asked, unsure. Karl sighed quietly and shook his head.

Aisha gasps and puffers her cheeks out. "Well you guys have to be! You have to ask mi hermano out! It'll make him super happy!" She stated matter-of-factly.
(Mi Hermano : my bother [?] )
Karl felt the blush invade his face like a raging wave of water. Little did she know..
"I'll try, Aisha," he promised the 8 year old. She gave him a big smile and giggled, warming his heart to the core."Yay!" She threw her arms up in a little cheer.
-meanwhile-
Alex walked out the kitchen and back down the hall, a small gummie in hand. Aisha had insomia, so melatonins helped a bunch. He was worried they had ran out when he couldn't find them at first, but it turns out they were in a completely different cabinet. His mom had moved them when she was cleaning earlier today.
He walked past his parents bedroom, peaking in a bit to see his dad sound asleep. Good. Alex was worried he might still be in the shop, it was almost 12am.
He reached his room at the end of the hall, the sharpie and pen doodles littering the white door a dead give away. Before he could open the door he heard a dramatic gasp. Most likely from Aisha. He thought. He went to open the door when he heard Aisha start talking, thinking nothing of it he opened the door slowly and quietly.
"Well you guys have to be!" He heard a frustrated 8 year old say. "You have to ask mi hermano out! It'll make super happy!" She finished. Alex paused mid step. Goddamit Aisha. He scolded himself for leaving her alone with Karl.
