People will criticize. people will misjudge. That's okay. As long as you're at peace with good intent and a pure heart, that's what matters.

Ariana could feel the glare of conspiracy biting into her skin. With eyes that closely resembled her own, Andria sat across from her as she forged a war of daggers between them.

They were sitting at a breakfast table, the family eating together in what would have been silence if Andria hadn't noticed her sister eating as well.

"Your eating; I thought you only ate dinner," Andria said, her voice freakishly high, making Ariana cringe inwardly. It was too early for this, she thought.

It was no secret that Ariana always preferred eating dinner over any other meal of the day, finding it much more filling, luscious, and delicious. The plus side was that it came with dessert.

Ariana takes a biscuit and nibbles on it gently, as if savouring its taste, only to irritate Andria.

"I thought I'd eat breakfast today instead of dinner," Ariana said with a distant look in her eyes. "Is it wrong to eat breakfast instead of dinner?" Ariana asked, raising a thin eyebrow while expecting no answer.

It takes a few moments for Andria to gather her thoughts, as if her tongue had been twisted, before she replies, "Yes, you see, there is breakfast for only four laid out on the table, not five. I think it will be best if you eat with the scullery maids instead."

"W--- What? Ariana spoke while biting the insides of her cheeks to stop herself from saying something snarky back, as Alpha Alec was sitting at the table and she would be punished for talking back to her sister.

"I told you to leave; eat with the scullery maids; we don't have enough for you," Andria said bitterly.

Ariana looked baffled, feeling dejected as she moved her gaze towards her father, who was eating in silence as though nothing was wrong. Ariana knew he was the only one who could tell Andria off, but he didn't; he didn't even move a finger towards them.

Ariana stood up to leave with a sigh of defeat, causing Nate to leap to his feet and call out to her, his silence on the matter no longer lasting." Ariana wait.."

Just as the words leave his lips, he feels a small, snake-like hand tugging on his hand. Looking downwards, he notices that it's Andria, making his frown deepen and his forehead crease with lines. "Leave me alone," he said, sending an ice cold glare towards her as he steps away from her touch.

"Leave her be; let her be with her own kind," Andria said, not liking the way Nathaniel supported their sister.

"How dare you? You are no sister of mine." Nathanial spoke, shaking his head, "You hold no ounce of morality in your words; the Moon Godess must be a cruel demon to make you part of this family, this house."

"Boy, don't raise your voice at your sister," Alpha Alec's command echoed around their table, causing Nathaniel's lips to close.

"Children do not cause a scene," came Luna Andorra's voice, making Nathaniel regard her with disgust. What kind of mother was she, leaving her pup to fend for herself.

"Oh goddess, mother, will you ever tell me why you distance yourself from Ariana while you keep Andria close?" Nathanial said, radiating anger as he walked away from the table while Andria sat with a half-smile on her face as she sipped on herbal tea.

"Andria, why do you speak to your sister with such ill tones?" Her mother asked, her voice straining with tiredness from the constant torture of having to pick between her children.

"I did not say anything wrong; she was the one who began the argument," Andria spoke, sweeping back her hair with one hand.

"She was just eating," said Luna Andorra, her voice grave with melancholy.

"Mother, she is just a weak wolf; she shouldn't even be near our table; she is only a disgrace; her eating with us just taints the name of our house." Andria said, causing her to get up in haste to leave.

As she stood up, she felt a warm hand wrap around her wrist, and she turned to see it was her mother, who said, "How dare you!"

As the tension between them grew, Luna Andorra raised her hand and slapped her daughter across the face, causing the entire room to fall silent.

Under the gazes of the other aristocrats in the room, Andria could feel her blood prickle in heat, her nerve endings on a blight of diseased anger. Who did this woman think she was, Andria thought to herself.

Instead of seeing her mother in front of her eyes, Andria only saw a crippled old lady who had the audacity to lay her vile hands on her. Andria felt her wolf's blood boil with the need to kill the woman she had once called her mother, to see the light dim in her eyes as she bled on the ground for the first time in her life.

Andria's malevolent eyes land on her mothers neck causing her to lick her lips in want as she clawed on to the sides on her dress ,punching large holes into the delicate material as she tried nor to rip out Luna Andorra's throat.

Andria rushes out of the room and into the hallway, her heart pounding loudly in her chest as she realises she has lost control of the situation.

Thinking best to leave for her chambers, Andria rushes down the hallway through walls covered in tapestries and antique portraits. Her mind not being able to comprehend what her emotions where telling her as she crushes into a hard wall that had a delicious scent, sycamore wood.

Looking up only to see hazel eyes looking down at her, Andria felt her mind shutting itself off for a few moments before it restarted with its tempting thoughts.

He was strong; that's all she could think as her wolf repeated one word to her, causing her heart to leap in her mind in excitement.

The man says one word , only one, the same as Andria's wolf, "Mate."
