We headed across the road and waited for a table.
"Hey love, doesn't that couple over there look like Z and Haz?"
"Yeah it does. Wait, that is them."
As we look over them they lent in for a kiss. It was long. I look over to Tom and saw that there were tears in his eyes.
"Tom? You ok?"
"Mhm"
"We can go somewhere else if you want."
"No its fine Y/nn, lets go say Hi."
We went over, me trailing behind. I felt sick.
"H-hey guys" Tom was getting really choked up about his best friend and girlfriend betraying him. I took hold of his hand and brush my thumb against it trying to calm him down. To my surprise he held my hand tighter.
"Watcha doing 'ere mate"
"Me and y/nn came to grab a bite. How about you."
"Just a couple of friends catching up." Haz is such a liar. I rolled my eyes. Tom squeezed my hand telling me to say something.
"Oh okay, how come we just saw you guy kissing just now?"
"Erm thats a total misunderstanding. "
"How can my best mate kissing my girlfriend be a misunderstanding? Look Z w-w-we're done."
"Yeah fine whatever. Haz lets go"
Tears were rolling from Tom's eyes. "Mate, tell me something, how long has this been going on?"
"6 months."
They left we got a booth in the corner. Tom was hurt. Puffy red eyes, lost hope, heart broke. He was on his phone looking at a picture of him and her. I put my hand out "Tom, you need to let go. She's hurt you, maybe it wasn't in the stars."
"Yeah you're right. Fresh start."
We got our orders and we talked alot about me, him. Turns out we had a lot in common.
"Shoot"
"Whats the matter love."
"My bestie got sick with something bad, her boyfriends taking care of her and she doesnt want me coming home. Do you mind me crashing at your place?"
"No not at all."
