It was a another night beyond the wall, it was peaceful. Well, mostly peaceful, the wild herd of buffalo where moving. You'd think that in a world where Titans practically rule it, there would be less things alive. Though I suppose, if all I craved was human flesh I wouldn't go after the animals either. I sighed, listening to the sounds of faint rumbling and birds chirping at the top of the tall tree I sat on.

Minutes later the low rumble turned into a loud roar, hoofbeats, horses this time. Riders accompanied them, the clang of metal and the smell of leather gave them away. The man in front was screaming something, "We will make this the first stronghold past the wall! Or die trying, come on men!"

Or something like that, the next thing I knew the men's screams filled the night air. Blood, the smell of fear and urine was pungent, it invaded my senses. This always happens, and I would sit and watch, and some idiot would try to get himself and most of his company killed.

I sighed, and decided to jumped in to the fray. Leaping from my spot, I fell, landing on a lower branch which was about three stories from the ground. I could see the massacre, blood layered the lower parts of the trees. Some titan bodies lay, still disintegrating and steaming on the ground. The men's screams died down, those who were here are dead. The rest must have retreated, I turned around hoping to see some traces of human or horse. There are a few horses nearby with their packs still on, which I quickly removed. Sighing again, I put my earbuds in and pressed play in my ipod. A loud fast song replace the silence.

Taking off, my strong legs take me through the forest, I jump from tree to tree quickly catching up to the retreating figures. From my point on the trees I see another titan, a 7m one, in front to cut them off. Pushing myself faster, I refused to give up and let them die. The next thing I know, I'm ahead of the riders, and in front of the titan.

I grab the wire, which was clipped to my belt. When stretched out and pulled tight, it is nearly invisible. Using the pressurized gun, I shoot the stake into the tree across from me. Just as I pull it tight, I hear the loud roar of the titan and loud thumping of his feet against the ground. The men screamed in fear, right before the sickening sound of flesh being cut.

The loud sound of the titan hitting the forest floor echoed. Everything was probably silent, the men seemed to be stunned. I knew the titan wouldn't stay down, it's leg had been cut off at the knee and was slowly regenerating. I jumped down from my tree, the men still hadn't moved. As I landed in a crouch, I simultaneously cut in to its neck with the sword I took from the dead man I found earlier, almost cutting its head off just as the song ended. Woops, too much force, but good timing, I grimaced before shrugging, oh well, it's dead right? Poking it, I nodded, confirming my thought.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed it was one of the ones with brown hair and a pedifilistic grin on its face. The steam rose into the sky, as the rest of the titan disappeared. I noticed that the men hadn't moved at all, staring at the back of my head.

I turned around and can face to face with them. They seemed to be in shock, they must had believed their life was gonna end. I clapped my hands together, seeming to bring them out of their stupor.

The leader cleared his throat, "thank you, you have saved our lives."I nodded, and turned to leave, I can't speak to them.

"Won't you accompany us back to the wall?" He called.

I shook my head, and picked up my writing book. "I don't go to the wall," I told them.

Their eyebrows came together, "why not? It is the only place that is safe for humans."

"I live out here, beyond the wall they all hide behind," I wrote.

Their expressions turned angry, "you are a child, you should not be in the wild! We will take you with us whether you like it or not," the leader commanded.

I scoffed, and went to jump in to the tree when I was grabbed by the wrists. I struggled, throwing the men from side to side. I didn't want to hurt them anymore than I had to, as more people piled on me. Suddenly, there was a sharp pain to the back of my head and all I saw was black.

Above is a picture of what she looks like in my head, as a child. The song is the one she is listening to on her ipod. By the way I'm pretending they have some modern day electronics, so yeah. :P
