Emery was nervous, Austin had set up a romantic date for their anniversary. She didn't know why she was so nervous, she had no reason to be. But Austin had been acting strange for weeks. So that had to count for something, right?
Austin picked her up and the were on their way to the beach, where they would have a picnic.
"You ok?" Austin asked Emery, his hand in hers as he rubbed his thumb over her knuckles. Emery didn't say anything, she just nodded yes.
"If you aren't feeling well, we can go back home?" Austin smiled, remembering the time he asked Emery to move in with him.

Austin wasn't aware of how nervous he was, that is until he was at the door of his girlfriend's apartment. He knocked on her door, sighing.
"Hey!" Emery opened the door, in her pajamas of course.
"Hi baby," Austin gave her a hug, and kissed her, "I had a question for you."
"Ok? What is it," Emerys smile never faltered, which reassured Austin.
"Um, you don't have to say yes, at all. But, would you want to move in together?" Emery stood there for a minute, of course she thought about moving in with him—marrying him, and eventually having children. She just don't know he would be the first to ask.
"Of course!"
"Really?"
"Yeah," Emery kissed Austin, pulling him closer to her.

"No! I'm ok, I promise." Emery looked at him, stared was the correct term but she didn't want to admit that. He looked too good to be true. But to Austin, Emery was definitely the attractive one it the relationship.
Once Austin pulled up to the beach, he ran to the other side of the car, opening Emerys door for her.
"See! This is why you need to tell me where we are going for our dates, I didn't bring a swim suit!"
"I didn't intend for us to swim darlin' but I'll let you know in the future, yeah?" Austin's voice still had the 'Elvis' accent, but Emery wouldn't change it for the world. She adored everything about Austin, his new found voice was just the icing on the cake.
"Ok," Emery grabbed a hold of Austins hand, him leading the way.
"Austin, oh my god! It's beautiful," Emerys eyes widened as she looked at the sight in front of her. Austin had set up dinner in the sand, the dinner was set on a table with chairs—showing that Austin knew Emery hated sand. The path way to the table was lit with fairy lights on top of a carpet. It was breathtaking.
"Thank you, Aus."
"Anything for my girl," Austin lead Emery down to the table, staring at her. She looked amazing, as always. But of course, reality had to set in, and so did Austin's nerves.
Dinner went by amazing, now they were just standing, watching the sunset and talking. Austin stared at Emery with nothing but love in his eyes, Emery soon picked up on that.
"What?" Emery asked, blushing under her boyfriends gaze.
"I- I just, I love you. I love you so much it almost hurts, in the best most possible way it could hurt. I can't imagine life without you, you are my best friend, the love of my life. Everything would have been so different if those rumors didn't keep coming back. And I'm so glad the did, otherwise I wouldn't be here," Austin fully faced her now, slowly getting down on one knee, pulling out the most gorgeous ring Emery had laid eyes on. "Asking you to marry me."
Emery gasped, she didn't know he would be doing this. She wasn't complaining at all, but she thought he'd wait a few more months.
"Austin, of course I'll marry you!"Austin slid the gorgeous ring on Emerys finger, getting up to give his newly engaged fiancé a kiss.
"Mhm, I think Emery Butler has a nice ring to it, don't ya think?"
"Oh it sure does."

@emeryrivers on my two year anniversary with the love of my life, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said YES.
