Raine's POV

I wake up to my alarm screaming in my ear. I roll over and nudge Eddie, who immediately puts his head under his pillow. "Do we haaaavvvveeeee to go?" I hear him mumble under the pillow. I laugh at his poor attempt to make me stay home.

"Get up, Munson. We have to be at the high school by 1 to rehearse the ceremony." I shove his shoulder almost pushing him off the bed. "Jesus, okay I'm up." He sits up smirking at me. "Can I please just wear my regular clothes." He groans leaning his head back.

"For fuck's sake, cry baby." I laugh and roll my eyes at him. I go over to our closet and pull out my lacey, black dress with a pair of flats to match it. "Can you just for once, wear the nice black skinny jeans and the button up black dress shirt to match me?" I give him my best puppy dog eyes.

"Fuuuuck you, Raine." He smiles at me. "You know I can't say no to those eyes." I clap excitedly just to piss him off more, showboating that I won the fight, and make my way to the bathroom.

Once I come out, I see Eddie in his room fumbling in one of his drawers looking for something. "Shit! Where did I put it now?" I hear him say under his breath, not realizing I was watching him.

"What did you lose now, Munson?" I tease him. "Uhhh, nothing. I found it." He says as he turns around. "Damn, you look.... stunning!" He says while moving his eyes up and down my entire body.

"Come on, let's go before you try and undress me." I say, turning heel and walking towards the front door. "Guess flattery doesn't work with her." He mumbles behind me in defeat, yet again.

We arrive at the school and the parking lot is jammed packed. Parents are already heading for their seats while us graduates head over to the auditorium to practice one last time. We go through all of us getting our name called, the walking up to the stage, grabbing the diploma and returning to our seat. It's pretty simple, but apparently the principal thinks were all a bunch of morons who only made it here by sheer luck in the first place.

"I'm feeling nauseous," Eddie whispers to me while the choir and band perform some shitty song about moving forward into the next chapters of our lives. "Oh, you big baby." I smile at him. "You're going to be fine. Plus, your uncle is here, and he has awaited this day more than you. So, give him this moment to be proud of you." I bump my shoulder into his. "I know I am." I give him a quick kiss on his cheek, and I see him blush.

"You and my uncle are lucky I love you both. Otherwise, I'd flip the principal the bird, snatch my diploma and run like hell out of here." I laugh a little louder than I should at Eddie, causing one of the teachers to look our way and give us a death stare. "Shit." I say under my breath. "You keep it up, neither of us are going to graduate." Eddie teases and makes me laugh again.

"Shhhhhh." the teacher tells us. "Munson, I will kick your ass after this if you get me in trouble one more fucking time." I nudge him again. I can hear him giggle to himself which in turn makes me blush. God damn it. I sure do love this idiot next to me, I think to myself.

After rehearsal, we all head behind the curtains to wait for our que to come in. Eddie and I don't sit next to eachother during the actual ceremony because of our last names. I continuesly look behind me to check on him, but each time I see him, he's either fidgeting his hands or biting his nails looking down.

I want to give him a smile of encouragement but I can't get his attention. Just then, my row is called to stand and one by one, each of our names are called. "James Ekeheart. Lorraine Elle." "Shit, here we go." I mumble under my breath.

My hands are now shaking. Thanks Eddie, for passing your nerves to me. I smile thinking about him. I can do this, I think to myself. I deserve this.

I walk up to our principal while he holds his hand out to shake mine and I place my hand in his. He hands me my diploma and I hear the crowd yell and clap for me. My mom is here but I can't hear her, so I'm not entirely sure who is cheering for me.

After I get off stage, I look over at Eddie, who happens to be grinning ear to ear looking at me. He gives me two thumbs up and I smile. The principal then calls his row, and he takes the stage. When his name is called, me, his hellfire club groupies and the crowd cheer and yell.

He looks at all of us with a shocked look like he couldn't believe people were cheering him on. Little did he know I planned it beforehand. I told the group "We have to make this his year." I tell them and they all agree, saying that it's exactly what he deserves.

He walks off the stage and I reciprocate the two thumbs up he gave me, and I add in a wink. I am so beyond proud of this man and everything he has accomplished this year.

After the ceremony is over, we all stand to throw our caps into the air. Once given the permission, we fling them all as high as we can get them to go and watch them come down. Once the sky has cleared and I look back down, Eddie is in front of me, on one knee, holding a ring. "Marry me, Raine," he says and I am left speechless.

Eddie's POV

As soon as I see Raine throw her hat, I look over at the group to see them mouthing "HURRY GO!" at me and I take off towards her. She's in a trance watching all of the hats flying so I quickly get in front of her and get on one knee. I pull out the ring I bought last week after talking with my buddies and them telling me "Fuck yes, Munson! Ask her!"

I was worried it was too soon and she would say something like "We just graduated, let's just see where this goes." But I couldn't wait anymore. She was everything that I could ever have dreamed of and I wanted to be with her forever. This was the perfect time to ask. I even spoke to my uncle and her mother, getting their permission first before proposing.

Surprisingly enough, both were beyond happy that I wanted to propose, which made me feel I must have done something right with Raine. She had been living with me since our last day of high school, so why couldn't we make it official?

I already had a job lined up once we graduated and now, I'll be able to start immediately. I was offered a mechanic job at one of our local body shops and I will also be doing band gigs on the side. Raine, of course, being at every show with me.

Just then, the hats were hitting the ground and her eyes hit me. "Marry me, Raine" was all i managed to get out without choking up. She doesn't say anything at first and it scares me a little. Right as I am about to say something else, she grabs my hands and pulls me up. "Okay!" she says, smiling ear to ear and blushing the deepest red I've ever seen her cheeks get.

I place the ring on her finger and turn her around towards our family and friends and proudly announce, "She said yes!" while holding her hand in the air. She turns around and kisses me. All of them cheer for us and I pull her into my chest and kiss her passionately before pulling back. "So, this really is forever." I say to her. She looks down and chuckles slightly. "Indeed it is, Munson." She looks back up into my eyes. "Although." She says to me. "Forever with you will never be long enough."

I kiss her lips again, softly this time. "I promise to drag out our little piece of forever, just for you." I give her a sweet smile. "I love you Raine. I can't wait to see my last name next to your first name. And I will forever be glad of that very first day meeting you, when I couldn't keep myself from kissing you. Since that day you've owned every part of me." I say to her.

"I love you, Eddie. Nothing could ever compare to the way I feel about you. Here's to our future." she says, wrapping her arms around my neck. I lean in and we kiss for what seems like an eternity. "Mrs. Munson, I like the sound of that." Raine giggles. I laugh and smirk at her. "Me too, darling. Me too."
