We left the bathroom shortly after everything that had happened. It was something that definitely didn't need to be talked about again until after the party was over. God forbid that ever happens to Ally or Delilah, or any other girl for that matter..
Music immediately filled my ears once again. A significant amount of people filled the room making it much more crowded within ten minutes. Ally and Lucas turned to Delilah and me in the narrow hallway, not leaving much room.
"Hey, Ally and I are gonna go run to the store to go buy some more snacks, none of these look good. Do you guys have any suggestions?" Lucas asked, in hopes for a good answer. Delilah immediately responded with, "oh my God, you better get some of those jolly ranchers those things are so good." She practically drooled at the thought of them.
"Okay, jolly ranchers for Delilah.. What do you want Lilli?" Lucas rephrased, making eye contact with me. He raised his eyebrow slightly still waiting for my response.
"Um..oh..uh twix? Like one of those king size packs for everyone you know." I muttered out.
"You got taste, I respect that," Lucas stated. Delilah and Ally laughed and I managed to crack a smile.
"Okay then, we'll be back soon." Ally announced. Delilah and I told them goodbye as we watched them walk down the hallway and through the house.
"Lillian, I have a serious question," Delilah stated. She did in fact sound very serious at that moment.
"Yeah, shoot."
"Have you ever had alcohol, like even a shot of anything before?"
Now that I actually think about it, I'm eighteen, and I haven't touched a single drop of alcohol in my life. I don't know if people would call me a saint or just boring.
"To be honest, no. And don't even call me boring. I just didn't want to end up like my dad," I explained.
"Damn, that's deep. I was gonna call you boring but since you have a valid reason it wouldn't be funny," Delilah joked. I let out a chuckle. Delilah continued on.
"I'm sorry, but that's gonna have to change tonight. I mean, you DID help me carry in the beer, so it's only fair if you help me DRINK the beer. Plus, you're in college now-"
"Fine, but only if you don't let me get completely wasted. Not at my first party, no way Delilah. I don't want to embarrass myself in front of all of these people," I cut her off.
"Okay, character development, thank you. And don't worry I will keep you 100% not wasted," she responded. Delilah flashed one of her iconic smiles at me and made her way to the island in the kitchen. She grabbed my hand and I shrieked in excitement.
"So first of all, is there anything that you absolutely won't try at all?" It doesn't have to be beer of any kind, just anything."
"Well, I don't really want to try any seltzers, those look nasty," I respond.
"Okay fair, I don't like seltzers either, they aren't my cup of tea."
I looked around to see if there was anything else that was off limits for me, but everything that was left looked enjoyable to say the least. A while bottle named 'Malibu' caught my attention almost immediately.
"Everything else looks decent, but I really want to try the Malibu," I say, reaching for the bottle.
"That's rum, are you sure you want to try it?" she asked reluctantly.
"Sure why not? It looks tropical-y" I say to Delilah. She grabbed two shot glasses and I gave the bottle to her. She poured the accurate amount of liquid into each glass and handed me one of them. I was a little scared I would get hooked on this, but Delilah said she would make sure I was okay.
