It was all dead and it was all gone.

The storm roared through the ceiling yet the silence from the tight slap was still deafening to her. It verbally abused her mind echoing in the serenity. She shuddered at the reminiscences of its effect. The stinging feeling never left so was the remorse that clutched her beating organ in the ribcage.

It was painful ,it was suffocating.

Shreds of paper with pieces of disjoint memories piled with endless tissues of the past ,the small room was a mess and so was the rhythm of her heart. Huge frames of ecstasy , the tremendous joy of laughter and etched lips were now discarded in a lifeless solemnity. Caged in mere papers holding a large piece of happiness.

Everything was fine then, Everything was , it was but not now nothing was fine.

She knew , all was ruined.

Seconds turned into minutes and minutes became hours , yet the heavy pours of misery hadn't stopped , its droplets stained the dusky window leaving a trail of puddles. She laid there in the bed with trembling nerves , forgetting to count the track of time .Soulless ,void of any warmth , chest burdened to exist ,to live a blank life.

She was now empty .

The abandoned phone on the bed stand never stopped buzzing. It ringed and ringed until it went silent. Her puffy eyes cast down to check the gadget. Twenty one missed calls , thirteen texts was all she saw yet did nothing . The numbness of her palms dreaded to claim any responsibility. Responsibility of work , of relationship and of friendship ignoring them , letting them slip from her hand she felt sick. With bare effort to accept the reality , she dragged herself off the bed.

The cold floor touched her feet ,it sent her chills but her mind was too cold to feel the same. She walked over the scattered clothes stepping inside the bathroom , discarding every piece of shame on the tiled floor. Passing through the mirror she took a glance at it and the appearance of her own self in the mirror was miserable. She was wrapped in clusters of vulnerability that disgusted her.

She was disgusting.

Her eyes gazed at every inch of the wrecked body, her long brown hair was a mess , uneven strands stuck on her tear stained cheeks. Hands scanning the right cheek , it was still tainted with red , those agony marks were colorless in her blurred life . Eyes bloodshot they were puffy , she blinked them to relieve . Sighing heavily her shoulders felt heavy looking at the hideous marks on her neck , it was an ugly imprint on her frail body.Though the rest of her body was untamed yet the soul of hers was tarnished .

Her lips quivered as reminisce of earlier events flooded her brain , the sickening memories drowned her again in a pool of guilt . The betrayal she did, the lies she was told will haunt her all life . What she did , what she got, and what she lost will be a demise for her own conscience. Feeling the edge being crushed from the very bottom of her heart, and once again a desperate need to escape surfaced her thoughts.

But too late , the treachery she received was inescapable and here she was standing hopeless amidst the storm that had been caused, wondering if an exit would ever be made or she would be lost in the webs of all this chaos.

" You need to run "

A lone tear slipped down her cheek , she whispered to herself that it was as futile as her efforts and she knew that quite well. The wounds created were deeper and the scratches were tearing her apart.

Oh how she would be able to protect herself , when she herself pulled the last string of hope. But there was this thing that kept her alive , she was selfish , she was stubborn and so she took a step out of her vulnerability.
