Just by chance early in the morning, Denji and Power woke up, an oddity that even the two gawked at each other as they lifted themselves from the floor. Both knew it was way too early. The sun had not risen yet in the horizon.Groggily, Denji stumbled as he failed to evade the pile of snacks and drinks on the floor around him as he walked to the kitchen, and Power followed closely. She peered over his shoulders, her head turning wildly scanning her surroundings.
"What the hell are you doing? It's too early for this shit." He grumbled. A yawn came over him as he ruffled his hair to shake off his drowsiness. Power, on the other hand, seems to be energized. Both had been up all night, much too late and were up far too early to comprehend what had occurred.
Power turned her head as she saw her little fur friend approaching them. She reached out both of her hands towards her cat and snared them in her embrace.
"Meowy! Mornin," Power cooed snuggling her face on the soft fur of Meowy. She walked around the apartment exchanging a mixture of meows and words, Denji in the background heard all the nonsense and decided to ignore it as much as he could. He was preparing breakfast for himself and Power, who would complain if he didn't. a high-pitched shriek came from Power.
"Denji! Denji!" Power called jumping to her feet on her way toward Denji. Denji rolled his eyes in annoyance and nodded weakly. "Meowy just told me Aki came home with a girl last night." She revealed.
Denji's face scrunched up in confusion. It was nothing unusual to question what Power said. It tends to create chaos afterward, but this time he wanted to ignore it. He had a lot to think about in his mind. After the battle with Reze, he placed no significance on anything other than his plan to flee with her failing yesterday. Reze ended up not showing up, and he felt his chance of freedom vanished. It was one bad thing after the other, after Himeno and Love, it just went downhill from there. He should be mourning, but why isn't he feeling that way?
Power took hold of his shoulders and shook him wildly. "She's sleeping in Love's room!" In her disbelief, a disgusted look was carved on her face at the thought of the intruder in Love's room. After Love's execution, Power complained and stayed out of the room she was sharing with Love. In her own words, she claimed, 'It's too cold in there, It gives me a strange feeling.'
This made his ears perk up. In no time, they made their way in front of Love's room. Both of them hesitated in reaching the doorknob.
"Open the door," Power hissed at Denji as she stretched out for the door and pushed it open. The dim light in the hallway seeped into the room and a weird figure on the bed caught their eyes. Frantically, Denji reached and pulled the door until only a small gap was between them and the room.
Power gasped and punched Denji on the shoulders, "See I told you,"
Again, Denji ignored Power and continued to stare at the figure, and for a moment his eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. He felt his heart clenched and thought if he was mistaking it. He saw a girl lying peacefully on Love's bed. However, something was different. The girl had beautiful brown hair, unlike Love's usual white locks. Denji struggled to make sense of his emotions.
Power, also firmly focused on the girl, whispered to Denji, "Who's she? Why is she sleeping there?"
"I... I don't know," Denji replied, his voice barely above a whisper.
Power's eyes met Denji's, her concern evident. "There's no way it's Love, she's dead, remember? Aki said so."
Denji didn't want to believe those words and yet he knew Aki was not one to lie. Especially, the way he said it.
