14 Years Later
"Get back here June! Have you lost your everlasting mind?"
"No, but you sure have. Since when did their parent's actions determine who they are?"
"When they screamed 'witch' and tried to kill us, or did you forget about mama?"
June followed her older sister out the door of the current house they reside in. Delphine could not truly blame her younger sister, since everything happened when she was young.
"Listen to me, listen carefully. You are to not see that darn Whitter boy. The ancestors are going to punish you."
"I ain't like my ancestors, and you ain't either."
The girls held a face-off, both burning with anger towards the other. After all the years that have passed, the girls returned to the original house with the Whitter boys. It hadn't changed much over the years, but the area around it had. The home was two stories, in the color of ivory with black trimming and a front door. The wrap-around porch had been restored, shutters retouched, the roof repaired and the borders of wood removed from all the windows.
"You ought to be angry, even if we stay with them in this forsaken house, we will always be their downfall."
"You sound like old man Jinga, and that fool is still living."
"I will let it slide for now, you were young and don't remember."
"It's been years Elphie, no one even remembers. It's a full moon tonight, you know what we have to do."
I wish that were true
"Do me a favor, get the barrels ready and steer clear of Joseph Whitter."
"I don't know Elphie, they say the wild comes out on a full moon."

Nightfall has arrived and many of the current townsfolk have arrived at the reopening of the Whitter house. The girls have decided to turn the old property into an apocothary. They knew they would need money if they were to change their lives around from the past. Even though Delphine was against the idea, she knew they couldn't live off Dr. Jinga forever.
You know this ain't right girl, y'all asking for trouble.
Delphine read the piece of paper Dr. Jinga slid her way, she completely agreed with his thoughts.
"Mama would be rolling in her grave, that child doesn't understand."
Then make her understand, there are consequences to this magic.
"You think I don't know that, she's practically using sex magic on that boy. I have a surprise waiting for her. If this doesn't work, I don't know what to do anymore."
Just remember what you promised me, girl.
"Yeah, yeah, trust me I don't want you around us no more than you do. You'll have what's yours sooner rather than later. Just make sure you fetch me some sugar or honey, water, and paper. She'll thank me for this later."
Or return the gift
"Gift? More like a curse of generations."
*
"I don't understand why she hates me and my brother so much."
"Oh don't worry about old Elphie, I'm an adult now, she can't stop me or us."
