Freedom? At what cost?

Gasps echoed around the chamber as the final fae was unveiled. Feyre let out a quiet sob and Kana was about to throw up. Was this how it was going to end? Feyre killing her beloved? Kana watched as Feyre picked up the dagger with trembling hands. Feyre whispered something quietly as she plunged the dagger into Tamlin's heart.

A laugh rang out. A horrible laugh. "You assumed that when I said instantaneous freedom regarding the riddle, it applied to the trials, too, didn't you? Foolish, stupid human." A few cackles could be heard at the back of the room. This was horrid. Amarantha who is beside herself with fury – probably aimed at herself because of how shitty she is at designing trials – starts shattering Feyre's bones. "Admit you don't really love him, and I'll spare you," Amarantha breathed, I saw her prowl toward Feyre. "Admit what a cowardly, lying, inconstant bit of human garbage you are."

A knife was flung towards Amarantha. Kana shot her head to who had thrown it. Rhysand, The high lord of the night court. Amarantha pointed a finger at him and he went flying into a wall hard enough that a crack rebounded against the walls. Kana growled silently.

The growl however quiet echoed in the now silent throne room. Feyre was almost dead. The last hope of Prythian was near death.

Feyre opened her mouth. Kana held her breath as Feyre choked out the answer to the riddle. "Love" People started removing their masks slowly. Amarantha cried out in rage. Tamlin was stalking towards her growling. Fangs were flashing under the fae lights. A golden flash erupted from him. Amarantha backed away – away from my corpse. She had no sooner hit the wall than he gripped her by the neck, and the stones cracked as he shoved her against it with a clawed paw. All hell broke out. Fae fighting fae. Kana had to dodge a few hits but noticed a yell and a sword flying over to where Tamlin was.

Tamlin caught it in a massive paw. Amarantha's scream was cut short as he drove the sword through her head and into the stone beneath. And then closed his powerful jaws around her throat – and ripped it out. After Amarantha's death, silence falls and Tamlin despondently returns to Feyre's body, falling to her side but one by one, the other High Lords approach Tamlin holding Feyre's body, bestowing "drops of light" upon her. Rhysand is the last to approach, explaining "For what she gave, we'll bestow what our predecessors have granted to few before."

Everybody waited to see if she would come back. Nothing happened. "Why isn't it working?" Tamlin growled. Helion chuckled. "It seems somebody has yet to make an apperance." Everybody started looking around. Helion just looked up locking eyes with Kana.

Helion was the only one who hadn't gotten Kana's court erased from his mind. She trusted him. "If you will Kana" He spoke. Kana stepped forward with a grin. Mutters erupt around the room. "Who the fuck is that Helion?" Tamlin snapped.

"You don't remember Kana Tamlin?" Helion laughed again. "It seems your spell worked pretty well." Kana smiled "Learnt from the best Helion" Everybody was still confused so Kana raised her hand and flicked it. Shouts were heard and all the High Lords looked at Kana in recognition.

"Kana?" Rhysand spoke as not believing it. Tamlin growled beside him. "Do it" Kana tutted. "That's not a nice way to greet somebody you haven't remembered for 49 years" Tamlin growled again but asked again nicely. Kana bent down and gave a drop of light making sure not to give a lot as the others did. Feyre's body jerked as her eyes opened. Tamlin wrapped his arms around her. Cheers rang through Kana's ears. She looked at Feyre with a mixture of worry, sadness and joy. Joy because she didn't have to hide her court anymore. Worry because Feyre had a look of guilt and sadness because Feyre had lost the one thing Kana knew was dear to her. Her human life.

Kana summarizes the aftermath of Amarantha's death and the faeries' freedom. The more evil faeries immediately winnow away, Lucien's brothers disappear, Rhysand disappears too. Somehow Jurian's eyeball/ring disappears. Other faeries immediately rush Tamlin and Feyre to thank them for their freedom, while Feyre finds herself at a loss for words given the innocent lives she took in order to do that. She also tells Tamlin she just doesn't want to talk about it.

Kana glanced at the other High Lords, staring in hatred. Kana sighed. Right, she decided to protect her court instead of helping. She was also like Rhysand hated because she was full of herself. Kana glanced at Feyre who was also staring at her. Kana winked at her before winnowing away.
