Hey guys! I've been extremely busy lately so once again, sorry I haven't updated in a while. Also, thank you for so many views! Please, if you enjoy this book so far, comment, vote, and maybe even follow me. (just a thought) Hope you enjoy!

My whole life had been turned upside down, but there was still one thing I knew for sure. I needed out of this place. Everyone had come back all bloody and bruised, and Luka had been bleeding out. I didn't want to mention it because for some reason, the thought of losing so much blood didn't bother him, and he pissed me off talking trash about the west so much. At first I'd agreed with him because I was awkward, but then I just got offended when he said he didn't give two shits if anyone was hurt by that. I don't consider myself a sensitive person, but he was really a ass. And he humiliated me when he saw me blushing.

Still fuming even the next morning, I was called back into  the Sunkiller's meeting room for another friendly talk. When I was leaving, he said to me, "This is good. Keep it up, or you know what happens. Not just to you."

Another spike of fear shot through me. It's not that I thought the Sunkiller forgot about the that. I just didn't want to think about what might happen if I didn't do what he wanted.

So now I was just waiting around in a slight panic, not sure what to do. Not even about my situation right now. I was bored. Everyone else here had jobs to attend to. I had nothing other then what I just went in to talk about before. I checked the time for the fifth time this hour. 13:12. I should probably go take lunch.

The kitchen wasn't anything nice at all, and I couldn't help thinking that if this was a criminal's headquarters, they would at least want somewhere else to eat. All there is in here is a massive fridge, a small counter, and a few dirty looking tables. I opened the fridge, and sighed. I should eat something, but I couldn't find anything I wanted. Th food here was really foreign, despite being only one country over. I wanted nothing more than pancakes with cream like my dad would always make.

"You should have something. It's pretty late," Someone said from behind me. I turned around the find a girl peering over my shoulder. She was tall and slender, with ice white skin, full red lips, and curly dark brown hair. She was also annoyingly pretty. "If I were you, I would be starving by now."

"I'm not hungry," I replied. She gave me a sympathetic look. "I know it can be hard, coming in from another country, but really, you'll settle in."

"No. You don't 'know it's hard' or anything like that. You're from here. And you have no idea what I'm going through right now, so don't act like you do. In fact, I'd like it if you minded your own business," I snapped. I know it was bitchy, but lust looking at her with her pitying gaze just made me suddenly furious.

She glared at me, muttered something about me being snobby and self pitying, and yanked some bread out the fridge aggressively, slamming it down on the counter. "Here. If you're going to be picky, just have this."

"What'd the bread ever do to you?" A boy drawled, coming into the room and putting an arm around her. She shook it off. "What did I tell you about distance from me?" She snapped.

"Um, I think you're exact words were 'stay at least 10 feet from me, or I'll break your fucking neck,' but Jessie-"

"Exactly." She smiled sweetly at him. "So you have 30 seconds to run." Grumbling, he sat down at the table. Jessie stomped out the room. This was so gaddamn awkward, so I just took a slice of bread with me and left too.

We entered the main room together, and she scowled at me. I wasn't trying to follow her, I just wanted to get back to my room. More people were spilling in, still with more injuries. Most noticeable though, 2 people were supporting Luka as he limped in, barely conscious. Jessie ran up to them, anger forgotten, demanding, "What happened? Is he ok? Luka?" Luka didn't seem to hear her. His fingers were digging into the arms of one of he guys helping him hard enough to draw blood. The guy was wincing, but not doing anything about it.

"Jessie, you might want to stay away," The other one said.

"But-" She protested.

"It's not an option. He's dangerous right now. He was forced that drug we want our hands on by the Red Swords. He's not really aware of what's going on, and we're not sure about the side affects yet. It's untested, remember?"

"But what happened?"

"We were tipped off by our informant that the Red Swords were gonna try to get some of it, so were sent to protect it. One of the Assassins were there, and he and Luka got into a little fight. The drug was right there, and Luka was in the process of gutting him, so you can imagine what happened."

"Holy crap," Breathed Jessie. "Do we know how long it'll last for?"

"No. I just told you. This is completely untested, anything can happen. Actually, speaking of that, we need to get him to the infirmary. You room's that way," He said pointedly, gesturing to a corridor on the left. the signal was clear. She wasn't wanted. Jessie left without complaint, with surprised me. She didn't seem like the type of person who could just be dismissed that easily. From what I'd seen so far, she was the sort who would do the dismissing. I was like that, before being forced to come here. Maybe that was why I didn't like her.

Conner used to tease me about that all the time. y first boyfriend was a disaster because he was too much like me, and Conner said that it was just a taste of my own medicine. Back then though, my ex was the one desperate to continue the relationship. It was up to me whether or not to end it. Around here, I had no authority or power, so I couldn't even do anything if she decided to be a bitch to me. I couldn't do anything about everything.

I shut the door to my room, head spinning. I needed out of here. And I had an idea of to how, without being killed on my way out. It would be hard, and risky, but could also bring down this whole piece of shit organization. I couldn't run away, because they had guards all over the place, and I had no training on how to fight.

But I did hold onto one piece of information while I was listening to the conversation from a few minutes ago. They were 'at war' with another criminal empire. Red Sword.
