KAI AND VINNIE DECIDED TO SPEND THE NEXT WEEK DAYS WITH EACH OTHER. as well as venus of course. 

they'd been doing pretty good as a couple but kai was already starting to get distant. vinnie didn't mind because he knows that's just how she is but on saturday, it all went to shit.

kai had been watching tv for the last hour and vinnie was playing with venus in her room. vinnie had decided to join kai in the living room.

"hey." vinnie says sitting down next to her and giving her a kiss on the cheek. 

"hi." she says in an annoyed tone.

"what's wrong?" he says noticing her annoyance.

"nothing." 

"what's wrong, kai?"

"nothing, okay."

"i can tell there's something-"

"nothing is wrong! just leave me the fuck alone."

"did i do something?"

"yeah. you're annoying the hell out of me."

"okay." he says getting off the couch. he goes into venus' room. kai goes into the bathroom. when she comes out, vinnie and venus are gone. 

she starts to panic thinking that he's mad at her and he's taking venus. she goes on her phone and calls nia.

"hello?" nia says over the phone.

"nia, i don't know where he took her." she says in a teary voice.

"what are you talking about?"

"i told vinnie to leave me alone and the next thing i know they're gone." 

"calm down, kai. he probably just left so you could cool off. you are a handful."

"i know but-"

"take a deep breath. you've got nothing to worry about okay."

"okay."

"do i need to come over there?"

"no. i'm okay."

"alright. i love you, okay."

"i love you too."

"okay bye."

"bye." she hangs up and lays on the couch hoping for them to come back.

after about 20 minutes, the door opens and vinnie and venus walk in.

"hey," he says smiling at her. "are you okay?" he asks noticing the tears on her face. he puts the bags down on the counter and goes to sit down next to her. 

"where'd you guys go?" kai asks while wiping the tears on her face. 

"you didn't get my text?" he asks.  she shakes her head. "we went to target to go get a cake. venus wanted to make one and i figured you needed some space." kai looks down.

"i'm sorry." 

"it's okay, kai. i'm used to it."

"yeah, but you shouldn't have to be." they both know she's right.

"do you want to help us make the cake?" he asks trying to change the subject.

"somethings wrong with me. i fuck up every relationship i have and it's only a matter of time before i run you off and eventually, i'll run venus off." she says in a low tone so venus doesn't hear.

"nothing is wrong with you and we're not going anywhere, valentine." he says bringing her into a hug.

"why are you so nice to me?"

"because i lo-" he starts. "i have my reasons." vinnie says chuckling. he kisses her on the forehead and gives her a squeeze before kai sits back up.

"i'm gonna go take a shower." kai says feeling a bit awkward after he almost said he loved her. 

"okay." vinnie says as she goes into the bathroom. he and venus begin to make their cake.
